A rookie, attempted murder for punching a man in the head compared to a star player involved in a man's death.... Sorry, but there is a difference here.

It won't get the same coverage, but I don't think it is about a negative agenda against the Patriots.

The Patriots is a top team in the league, and Hernandez is - was, sigh - a top player on the team. The Browns are, well they're the Browns. And the player is a rookie. One thing is headlines, the other is not.

Not fair, but the name of the game.

Why do we care about the Browns??  If you are trying to detract from the real story. Its not working. Pats fan care about THEIR team and boston residents MAY also feel some kind of way, depending on the relationship they had with the victim. Face the Facts Rusty. Last week at this time, you were claiming to know it all and told everyone to chill. You are still scrambling to detract??? Its OVA!!!

    Patriots vs. Browns?

    New England market vs. Cleveland?

    Murder vs. fight?

3 year vet/rising star vs. unknown undrafted player with zero NFL games?

Jeez, must be the media bias against the Pats that makes the Hernandez story front page material and the story about some unknown player on a dead team a non-story.

Looks like Lombardi took some of Belichick's draft advice after all...

These are both different. One is a rookie, the other is a Pro Bowl TE. One guy got punched and went to the hospital while the other was shot execution style.

But, the coverage. I am talking about the coverage. How is a murder or attempted murder and it's coverage for an NFL player involved, "different"? They're both felonies. The police in NJ had evidence and arrested.

Here, they had evidence and strung it out for 8 days after having obstruction evidence, which created a platform for the media to do what they did, which was essentially make millions off of no charges even filed.

If that guy dies after the murder from this Browns rookie, there will be no difference with two dead people, murdered.

C'mon Rusty you are smarter then this.  If you weren't a Pats fan which story would you be more interested in?  Stop pushing your agenda for a few minutes and take it for what it is.  This isn't a good example of the world against the Patriots.  Get real, dude.  You should know by now which stories get the most attention in this world.  This has less to do with media hate, more to do with human interest.

An undrafted free agent who has never played a snap for a downtrodden franchise doesn't get as much media attention as a star tight end for the best offense in football?  The HELL you say!

Roger Goodell made sure the Cleveland story got less coverage. He is, after all....out to get the Patriots....according to the tin foil hat conspiracy crowd

What's interesting about the OJ situation is, that is the day things changed with how the media covers violent incidents of famous people, which is really what this thread is about in the first place.

Leave it to people with IQs under 100 to not get it.

Dude, stop it.  Just stop it!  That's not what this thread is about.  That wasn't your intent when you made this thread.  Stop back pedaling again. You look silly here.... again!

The other point is, there was no arrest for 9 days.  They had him on obstruction last Monday. Could easily be a wink wink from the media and the local police.

I have not read this or heard this anywhere.

Where did you find out this fact?

Just pointing out how the media will focus more on certain teams more than others when off field alleged felonies occur.

How many times has the media focused on a certain team's felony while ignore another team's felony?

I've never known any forum member to simply pull stuff out of his or her ace as much as you do.  You just make stuff up and offer it as fact.  When confronted on the sheer stupidity of a false fact, you attempt to turn it into something else.

Umm, then what is the thread about? I've said repeatedly it's ridiculous to pretend ANY GM of any team should have their feet held to the fire in terms of thinking they should be babysitting players on a 53 or 90 man roster in any pro sports league.

This thread is about your ongoing infatuation with how the media is out to get the Patriots all the time, trying to tell everyone the Hernandez story is going to get much more press and coverage just because he was a Patriots player, No?
