you think he has any chance of being used as a situational pass rusher at some point?

That was his strength in college, so I'd say, yes he'll get a shot if one of their rush LB's get's injured.....assuming he's still around.

I like that he provides some emergency depth at olb and is also a pass rushing specialist.

this guy could turn out to be a real steal. with mayo and seau returning soon, along with the emergence of guyton, the LB corps will be a real plus. all in all, this defense is looking better and better to me. it looks like a D that could win a SB. belichick also did an excellent job during the off season signing springs and bodden.

6-3 250 OLB, was a 2008 3rd round pick by Pittsburgh.  He was a pass rush beast at UCLA, but wasn't able to make the transition to 3-4 OLB, so he was cut.

This article highlights what you guys already knew about him:

And makes me think we could see some fun formations if things work out and he can work his way up to the 53 man roster.

With Banta-Cain, Burgess, Ninkovich, and Davis all as hybrid OLB/DE's and Guyton, Mayo, Woods, and possibly Seau as LB's, we might see some of the old 1-5, 2-5, 2-4-5, etc. that made Belichick famous back in 2003 and 2004.
