Aging vet? check
Leadership ability? check
Pass rush need? check
Low cost? check
Okay, so you can argue every vet is aging, and that he may not necessarily require a low cost, but from a Patriots perspective, he could make sense.
There are reports that he will not be back in Indy next season, he's not a fit for the 3-4.
I don't think he'll get a big deal because he's going to be 33 next season and he's coming off a pretty ineffective season. I don't think he's an every down player, but he's someone who may be able to work opposite of Jones on obvious passing downs.
That being said, it wouldn't surprise me if he didn't want to sign here. He's loved in Indy and joining the Pats could be viewed as an act of betrayal. But I still think it could be a fit. Oh and he was born in connecticut.
Tampa, Detroit and Minn are other likely destinations
