Chung dissed for AFC Special Teams Award

This is ridiculous.  The Jacksonville kicker makes a 59 yard FG and wins it because of that.  Chung blocked 2 kicks.  Arghhhh...

Hmmm... I wonder if anyone will even notice this thread with all of the Moss talk...

Lot of folks around here were as excited about that Colts loss as they were about the Pats' win at Miami.

In any case, the award is essentially meaningless.

You do know that it's not just about the Pat's players do you?

Good.  The less individual honor the better.  Can only lead to more team effort and more wins.

Quit with the rationalizing. It is an award of recognition of individual effort and Chung's effort beats Scobee's hands down. Scobee's play might have been more exciting, but from a standpoint of pure effort - Chung.

I feel that Chung was definitely hosed in this regard.  Scobee kicked one field goal, impressive though it was.  Chung, however, blocked a punt, that led to an offensive TD and a field goal, which was returned for a TD.  In addition to the all around outstanding night (scoring a TD on a pick), he was a beast on multiple special teams plays, all of which led to the victory.  I think the judges goofed on this one.  Then again, if Chung feels slighted, maybe it will keep driving him and he will become an even bigger factor.

No one's rationalizing you d0uche.  Some of us honestly don't give a sh*t about special teams player of the week and only care about winning games.

Aww, did I hurt your widdle feelings so you have to resort to name calling?

And, you didn't say you didn't care about the award, you said "the less honors the better" - a different story.

You realize you aren't on the field so stop being a tool. You aren't even in the locker room. Focus on reality.

    Efffing pink hat.

I have to admit, I'm with mighty on this one.

I had no idea there was even such a thing as "Special Teams Player of the Week."

    Seriously, who gives a sh*t?

If the ST award has any meaning then Chung got hosed.  That said, I agree with the other posters who would rather see the Pats win games than receive awards (unless of course it's the Lombardi Trophy).

There is a media bias against NE anyways, so who cares.

To me, the award doesn't really matter, but as they are giving it, Chung beats Scobee.

I don't care for work awards either, but if they are giving them out, my hands are open.

The point is - do it right.
