    Coach of the Year

BB again proved why he is such a great coach.  He balanced playing and resting his starters perfectly.  They still won the game and looked as sharp as ever, even without many of the starters on the field.  Year after year, he faces adversity and comes out better than anyone could ever imagine.   Since the NFL will never give it to BB every time he deserves it, they should re-name the award......Second best coach of the year after Bill Belicheck.  Go Pats!!!!

I think this was one of his finest coaching jobs. If we win the SB they'll be no doubt.

Do they vote on those awards before or after the playoffs?  I know in baseball, it is before, but they don't reveal the results until after the WS is complete.

Agree - BB did an absolutely sensational job this year. Particularly on D. Brought all these young guys in and they are really hitting their straps now.

Do they have one for each conference or just one for the entire NFL?

When the season started,CBS,the station which covers the AFC didnt even have the Patriots in their top 10.The media will now say "With Belichick and Brady, they are always a top 5 team so I'll vote for So and So instead............"BS!!! They werent even considered among the top 5 teams in the AFC.     Then the season started with damn near 50 percent of the roster either rooks or 2nd yrs players.Looked like the predictions were going to be correct. We lost to the Jets and even the most die hard of us were more focused on the Raiders pick than the Super Bowl.Mankins stayed away,Faulk was lost and we traded Maroney and Moss.Mankins returned, but got spanked by the Browns..."What??"...Branch came back and we justified it by calling it an even swap for Maroney.......lol.Damn!!! "Well at least there is the wild card.""Dang,Oakland is lookin pretty decent?!"     Then something only imagined by the great and wonderful BB happened! With two rookie TE's and a completely undrafted backfield,no one to stretch the field and a defense that was young and looking like they might not put it together........THEY KICKED PITTSBURGHS BUTT!!!!    TE's and CB's and Rb's  OH MY!!!! Think of another coach who could have overcome so much and produced such a nearly flawless seaon other than Bill Belichick.Only Walter Mathau has strung together such a ragtag group of athletes and produced such a glorious season.Lets not lose the big one though!!!With only one bad azz pitcher(Brady as Kelly Leach) and a bunch of long hair hippie freaks.this team not only started winning, but they became record setting!!COACH OF ETERNITY Bill Belichick deserves this trophy almost as much as he deserves to stand on a podium in Texas holding a trophy that if it wasn't named so early, would in fact be named after himself. LONG LIVE COACH BELICHICK!!!!!!

That's funny you said that because last night on the Fox Sports show here in Dallas,  they said exactly the same thing... That Belichick's name needs to be on that trophy too!
