I started to jump into this discussion and then realized that I'd be prolonging something that I simply don't care for to begin with.  Most NE Pats fans think Brady's among the best if not the best; there are those who think otherwise.  Fine; I could give a rat's a $$.

You cant teach UD6 anything because he is borderline tarded, which is an insult to the less fortunate, UD6 aka robbie evans aka slob knob was not good in math, he doesnt get that QB a) 14-5, 2x one and done, 3 SB in 4years, a 4th with perfection on the line and 50TD in one season.   QB b) 9-10, 7x one and done, 1SB ring that took what 8-9 seasons, 2SB appearances (with a nut cracking kick in the jewels pick 6), now anyone with an IQ over 1 will take QB a) numbers, anyone with 1 brain cell would, so slob knob which one has the better resume??  ( i do not care about reg season stats, mvps, 1st team, blah blah blah, last time i checked they do not hand out super bowl rings for these accompishments....but they mite in ingaynapolis because they cant win more than one, just another dynasty wanna be, kinda like the bears from the 80's, could have won more, should have won more, but did not, still stuck on 1, indiana folks think if you win 1 your dynasty.........so which qb has the better numbers IDIOT, is it QB a or b............and if you ask the so called experts on which qb you want to win super bowls, i bet most of them will chose QB A over B and they have, just research old footage from espn, nfl network, etc etc oh and by the way head to headmatchups QB A 8-4, QB B 4-8, bottom line if gomer pyle was the g.o.a.t. he would have tom bradys ringsss and not a RING, way to go gomer you have the same amount as trent dilfer, your legacy is defined by what you do in the playoffs, not your reg season stat (w)hores like favre, marino, playtex, combined all three together in the ring dept and brady still has more than the stat (h)o's, mount rushmore of QB = bradshaw, montana, brady, aikman, funny i do not see gomer pyle, playtex womanning, or even pay-me-a-ton manning, where is he????? he has to be on here because ud6 said so, but i cant find him ..........oh wait there he is just a shade above trent dilfer but behind guys like elway, starr, plunkett, rothelisberger, staubach, also the true great qb's also go back 2 back (starr, elway, montana, bradshaw (2x), aikman, brady, the good news is after sunday at least gomer will not be 4-9 vs brady, not that 4-8 is much better but you get it right robbie???  manning has failed more times all ready than brady ever will (ex-more int's, more one and dones, and 2 less rings)  bring on sunday, i bet you will not even watch like most the clot nation-incest manning lovers, all is quiet here in "clotville"  0-11 soon to be 0-12

I understand why you write that, but I think what we have here is an exception:

    1) The Colts don't want to win.  Suck-for-Luck is real.

    2) BB hates Polian and Irsay.  (Heck, I wouldn't doubt if a guy like Saturday likes BB and Kraft more than he likes Polian and Irsay.  A lot more.)  BB will show no mercy.  If he pulls Brady early, it will be for the benefit of the Pats, not the Colts.

    3) The Colts are starting yet another new QB.

The Pats' biggest concern is not winning.  It is getting out with no new injuries.  Knock on wood.

    Again with the excuses.
Funny you named all defensive players.  Brady does not control the D (other than keeping them off the field).  Who was his O help again?
It's his job to score more points than the opponent, regardless of what the D,
    special teams, or kicker does.
Yes, they are all part of the team, but it's the Qb that wins in spite of all the  team's deficiencies that are the great ones.  This is where TB excels and Manning fails.
Manning's D was never terrible.  They are just built to play with the lead.  Therefore, if Manning does not put them in the lead, there are problems.
If Manning fails, they fail.  Manning fails a lot in the play-offs.  It's that simple.

Even today, If you had a QB (any QB) that could put the team in the lead comfortably, they would win with that D and it's O weapons.
Your current QBs are not that guy.

So again, I ask:  Which QB would fans choose (if they had a choice) to lead their team, (any team USA) in the Super Bowl?
The one than wins more than he looses, or the one who looses more than he wins?  I think the answer is very obvious.

In Response to Re: Colts fan on Sunday : Do the words choke artist mean anything to you when the game is on the line? You are defined by your biggest moments and manning will always be defined by the pick he threw against the Saints. You used the term G O A T and I simply stated that the greatest of all time would never throw an interception in his defining drive. When Brady equals your saviors amount of one and outs in the playoffs we can evaluate them equally until then Manning is a great QB just not as good or clutch as Brady.

Guys, Texas Pat has one thing right - got that first one in just before the end of the year, congrats TP - I am still defending Manning. And frankly, it's pretty darn easy to effectively do.

But here's the thing, I've been doing this for years on this board, and everytime one of these things arises the board starts piling on and it becomes long winded and nobody says anything new.  with that said, I will refer you back to all of my old defenses posts.  They are littered throughout this board.  Rest assured they will likely answer any question any of you may have raised here.  There's really nothing new regarding either Manning or Brady to change the argument.

Whoops.  Well there is that one glaring elephant in the room that is new this year.  Manning isn't playing and the colts with same team and staff stink.  What changed?  Manning not playing.  So, make sure when tallying that you make an extra large mark on the manning side of the ledger for this one, because there really is no counter.

Except that the real Elephant in the room,(not the pink one that you see when you had a little too much to drink) is that a teams dissention as well as ascension; does not happen over night.
Over the past few years, you lost Dungy, Moore, Mudd, others.... Not the same coaching staff at all.  Lie
You lost players either to injury or FA that you never replaced adequately.  Lie
    Drafts su cked!
    Players are older.
Baby Polian in charge.  Nepotism runs rampant.
    Irsay ruins teams.
    No leadership at the top.
Not going for it in 09, created dissention in the locker room and instilled a "loser" mentality in the team that is still prevalent today.  Painfully obvious!
    Poor coaching decisions.
    No back up QB.
    Suck for luck.
Could go on and on and on..........
Manning is not the only reason.  He's just one of the many straws that broke the camels back.   All adds up to FAIL!

    Pezz -

The colts went 14-0 and to a SB with that new coaching staff.
The colts went 10-6 last year with the most starter games lost of any team in the NFL and were in position to win their first playoff game last year until their coach called a stupid timeout.

What I guess I am pointing to is you mention all of these things the colts don't have:

    a good coaching staff
    a good front office
    healthy players.

Yet amidst all of these claims you make they were still relevant and good when they had...                                  Manning.

Thanks for making my argument for me.

Truth in advertising, dogg(gggg) makes some valid points here. Caldwell is an idiot, and I would be surprised if dogg(gggg) disagreeed with that. Of course, the Colt's never went 14-0 . . .   that's revisionist . . .   you have to play the whole schedule . . .  they went 14-2 and lost the Super Bowl in inimitable Manning, P., choke fashion (nice pick-six, dude), but none of this adresses what Frank Zappa would call the crux of the biscuit . . .   that being that the Colts are  -- and have been  --  tanking.

Now, of course, our fine Indy friend will ask me how I happen to know this and that is well within his rights. If I were a fan of a team that was an embarassment to the sport (which you could make a case, once upon a time, that I was) I would grasp at whatever straw became available, and that right soon. But . . .   the proof tends to be in the pudding.

I'm gonna go ahead and say it:

I'll miss the Colts. They were a team you could get up for, the way the Dolphins used to be when I was a kid (maybe some of you remember that). But, ultimately, it's hard to have respect for a team that is willing to take a d*ck in its mouth in order to trade one "should have been" for another "might be."

    Of course . . .   that's only my opinion.

It's entirely possible that everything is perfectly rosy in Indianapolis.

    Yeah . . .

and monkeys might fly out my butt!

Gotta say, for a guy as smart as Pmikey wants everyone to believe he is, he'll just throw all of that hard work out the 90th floor of the Sears Tower (Hewitt now?) with takes like the one above.  amidst the stylistic jibber jabber above, he flops with the tanking talk.

why is such talk nonsense?  Well because players are playing for spots on either the colts or some other team for the next year.  players are playing for reworked contracts next year.  Coaches are coaching for a spot next year, and I think the GM wants his son to keep his spot.

While Caldwell may be an idiot and Painter may be awful, I find it nonsense to believe they are efforting this year for a role on their couch at home next year.  I don't think Mathis or Wayne are interested in seeing their future compensation significantly diminished due to intentional non-production this year.

But if that kind of thinking gets a rise out of you without the need for Cialis, have at it.

14-0 should have been 16-0 until the brass instilled that
losing attitude, mentioned earlier.  It's still there.
Manning did nothing to change that.  His pic 6 in that SB only solidified it.

10-6  is a 4-6 game decline from the previous year.
The Pac won the SB last year with serious injury problems including a concussed QB.
Big Ben went to the SB after being suspended for 4 games in which his team won all their games in his absence.    Also had injuries except they didn't quit.
You had your QB all year.  What happened?

Tom Brady is currently playing with zero starters on the secondary that consist of ps players and guys off the street who were never drafted, a patched OL that is now on their 4th center and starting 2 rookies (one just activated because of cancer).  10 guys already IR'd and 18 guys on the injury report.

Your excuses are useless, pathetic, irrelevant, and very old.
You just proved my point.  Tom can overcome problems.  Peyton can't.
    Hail TB      ******G.O.A.T.******

Honestly, I don't begrudge you your blindness, but you actually made my point in the post to which I was responding. Sure, players play hard. Of course they do. It would be foolish to suggest otherwise. They've got careers to think of (or perhaps not) but the bottom line is that your boy, Caldwell, is at least half a ret@rd, and a team that is not prerpared cannnot win and is, thus, tanking, no matter how desperately the players wish it were not so.

Your franchise is an embarassment to the very sport.

As a fan, you should be ashamed.

    That's it, and that's all.
