... and the offense, and the special teams.

Your infatuation with the defense, and tendency to ONLY award credit to them following victories, and only place blame on the offense/Brady following losses, is a completely out-of-line with what Belichick preaches. It's a team game, and teams win games. I highly doubt Belichick is in the locker room right now, berating the offense while propping up the defense. He is likely congratulating the TEAM for showing mental toughness and pulling out a tough game.

Thank goodness you aren't the coach of this team.

They have been absolutely outstanding all year, and today, undermanned, up against the wall with that short field on Miami's second drive, they battled and flipped momentum singlehandedly.

From the hold on the long FG try off the upright by the D there, to the Logan Ryan sack/fumble with NInk as Johnny on the Spot (leads the NFL since 2010 in fumble recoveries), to Cole's INT with an assist to McCourty, to Cole's FG block.

Congrats to the players who are battling and holding the fort until key players like Talib and Kelly return. It should bode well later in the year.

Carter got more snaps than I expected, but overall he should help as he shakes off the rust.

THe D took out Mike Wallace, Hartline did very little and they contained the run game in the second half.

What's concerning is through 8 games this year, the only reason why we have 2 losses is because they could not channel the '85 Bears and bail out Brady.  That's the only reason.

If that is our main problem, I'd say we need to hope Brady can snap out of it, sooner rather than later.

All hail arguably the AFCs best defense halfway through the season!

I give the game ball to the Right Upright.  This time it doesn't need to bat the ball away.

Great team win. Do they sell a patriot jersey that just supports the defense? Christ if you ever played a team sport you must have been a terrible teammate.

Good job by the D for sure. Best half time adjustments that the team has made in several years..the D set the tone today for the comeback...

Congrats to the entire team. If there is one word to put on the 2013 it is TOUGH.

Important players are dropping like flies, and it is never pretty, but wow, they just keep fighting. Through the first half they looked bad, but starting in the 3rd quarter they gained just a bit of momentum, and somehow managed to grind out the W.

Chris Jones looks like a  is nice player, esp for a rookie.  Unfortunately injuries on DL has forced the Pats to put too much on him.  He looks like a better Myron Pryor type for the future - a situational penetrating DT for for passing downs. If they can spot this guy for those types of situtuations, he could well become a very good player... maybe a double digit sack-master.  He seems to have the character to go with the athleticism too. We need Kelly back  to take the pressure off him and Little Joe V.

BTW I did some research on him and he was MAC player of the year last year (12 sacks) ... not a bad pedigree ... sure the MAC is a weak conf, but lots of good players have come out of there.

Great team effort in the 2nd half, although horrendous in the first.  Horrendous

D gave the O a chance and O capitalized.  That's what its about.

    T     E     A     M

Crusty doesn't know a team if it bit him in the azz.

Stems from 36 years alone in the basement, or could be why he's spent his pitiful existence there.

NO TEAM will let him play.

it was a discussion here. something about a torn ACL but kelly wanted to try and come back anyway. did not sound possible.

Can't say I was too impressed with either offense or defense in the first half, but both units picked up in the second half.  Defense in particular was good, but the offense deserves some kudos too for a stronger showing.

There's no reason to praise only the defense or attack Brady unless you have some kind of crazy agenda . . .

Who else thinks they sit Talib and Kelly next week, even if they canplay?  The combo of the big lead in AFC east now and the bye the next week, kind of makes it a no-brainer.

Does anyone else really like how Logan Ryan is progressing?  Was also happy to see Dobson get involved.  Jones and Vellano also played reasonably well in the second half, giving us four rookies who all made a notable contribution.  And of course guys like Harmon are also making a few plays.  That's nice to see, particularly with all the injuries to key experienced players.

Dobson was O-player of the game IMO That TD may help him mentally - confidence ... He made a few plays. The other receivers were invisible

Thompkins had a great block on the RIdley run, but Brady was so bad in this game, staring down Gronk, etc, that it only appears like the WRs were invisible.

Well, it is the D's JOB to get the ball back to the O.

They must have forgotten that in the first half and all of last week.

Maybe they had the rusty syndrome.

Thank the football god's they woke up and helped the O to score 24 in the second half.

I'm so proud of the way the defense is still playing like a top 15 D after all the talent loss. They are a scrappy bunch with a couple of playmakers still amongst the healthy. If they can just keep us in games our offense will take care of the rest.

They can't do it on every single drive in an offensive era like this, Pissdispenser.

It is our offense's job led supposedly by a great QB, to DICTATE within the easy offensive rules that Goodell has provided.

Brady is WORSE with easier rules. You tell the board how that makes sense.

    [/QUOTE]

They can do it enough to give the O a shot.  46 minutes on the field is not a shot.

Recipe to beat the Pats= Attack the D, convert 3rd downs, and keep Brady on the bench.

Proven.  Everybody knows it except you!

Now if Brady actually had receivers, the team might have a chance in hell.

Amazing what a catch here and there (instead of a drop) can  do for a QB as sucky as Brady.
