unless kraft buys the jets and bb takes the gm/head coach position im not worried. the jets seem to always fall on their face.

The Jets have to pay the Sanchize $13 million next year whether he plays or not.  The team has cap Hades to work off.  Just a guess, but they will probably choose to not pay Tim Tebow his $5 million next year.  So, the next problem with cap Hades is that the Jets don't actually have a quarterback who can throw the football.  Forget about re-signing their stars, they need to sign a quarterback, any quarterback.

So, this turnaround could take some time.  Otherwise, the 49ers player personnel director probably isn't a bad deal.

Caution:  sometimes a great guy with one team turns out to be not so great in retrospect.  Scott Pioli was the perfect director of player personnel with the Patriots.  Then he went to the Chiefs as GM and the bottom fell out for him.

There's still the problem of coach Rex's lack of player motivation skills.  Sometimes he motivates players, other times he somehow inspires them to quit on the field for him.

You keep saying 13, while it's been reported 8.25. Where are you getting the additional 5 million?

I believe you are quoting his base salary whereas Paul is quoting his cap number which is higher.

Sanchez base salary is 2013 is $8250 mil. His prorated bonus is $4103 mil. He also has another bonus of 500k. His total salary against the cap for 13 is $12,853 mil.

If cut, he counts as "dead money" as $17153 mil.

Needless to say, Sanchez is back next year.

Unless - fill in the blank next hot shot GM - brings in a quarterback the jets will be toast, just like everybody else that doesn't have one.
