    curb your enthusiasm...

Hey I'm as happy (and surprised) that Revis has signed with the Pats but this basically gets the team back to where it was before Talib left.  (minus 7mil)  Say all you want about how much better Revis is than Talib but can Revis shut down Jimmy Graham...?  Talib at his best (granted when he's on the field ) is right there with Revis as a top CB.

So the team is still at square 1 trying to get better IMO.    REvis is a Talib replacement.  Now go get a pass rusher...( Allen, Peppers...etc)  and a big Receiver  (Eric Decker)  ...  And then we can get giddy and heap all the accolades on BB.

I really want Decker on this team to pay back Elway and Co. for scarfing up Talib and Welker.

I'm not getting overly excited, this is one step with more that need to be made, but Revis will give you 16 games and help win playoff games. That's a massive advantage over Talib who disappeared two years in a row in the AFCCG and only really played at that level for half a season at a time Coolade.

Just saying that Revis is a player that has gotten hurt also.  Any player can get injured.  I hope you are right and REvis plays 19 games next season... not just 16  (knocking on wood...)

Talib is a fine player. But he misses three or four or more games every year, that's his track record. Revis is better, so he's an upgrade. But it's not the last piece. And the offseason is just getting started.

We'll see how Decker does with the Jets, going from PM to Geno. From having D. Thomas, Julius Thomas and Welker beside you to having....Cumberland Farms?  He's a fine number two receiver, being paid like a number one now.

Anyone can get injured but Revis has had 1 injury season (knock on wood) Talib has never had 1 healthy season. So there is a bit of a difference. Put it this way if you had to bet everything you owned would it be Revis playing 15+ games or Talib playing 15+ games

Decker signed with NY because of the cash and because of the venue...they must have agreed to let he and his wife to film their cable series on Jets property and NYC is a much better venue to show on the tube than Oakland, for example....if you had a TV show and your wife was a big time singer, wouldn't you want NYC  as a place to be?

This has disaster written all over it...GREAT!!!!!!

I'll await my cue from you before unleashing my unbounded enthusiasm for all that is Pats.  Until then perhaps we'll see some help along the D line, WR, SS and TE from both free agecy and the draft.  What's your timeline?  Training camp?  1st preseason game?  Start of the reg season?

I feel like talib was a player with nagging injuries as opposed to revis who had a bad luck injury. Same with gronk. players with nagging injuries concern me, guys with bad luck injuries don't.

Revis > Talib.  I like Talib but he couldn't be counted on with that bad hip.  Revis is the best, plain and simple.  Add Browner to the team and talk about lockdown D!

Pats still need to add to the offense passing game.  Right now they are seriously lacking there.  Also curious to see if they bring Blount back.  Bring in a good receiver, re-sign Blount, draft a TE, look out!!

Building a 53 man roster in the NFL is a difficult and daunting undertaking that doesn't happen overnight. There is a long way to go.

that being said as fans why shouldn't we  get  excited about moves that look to help the team.

LOL!! Isn't it amazing that no matter how good something is, certain Pats fans will find a way to say something negative?

Agree with all with the possible exception of Blount.  Not sure re-signing him is as important as beefing up the wideouts and adding depth at TE.

Revis helps the team that was diminished by losing Talib.  Its more like relief ... or a trade-off.

However, getting Browner on top of Revis would be brilliant and worthy of jumping jacks...  IMO.

Not PEDs, substance abuse. He will be cheap, missing four games plus has to work for free for four more weeks. Hard to see him getting north of $2 mil on a one year deal.

Peppers would be fine at $5 mil or so, Allen wants twice that, no thanks. Woodley wouldn't be a bad situational guy either.

Amendola would be hard to move and still would carry nearly $5 mil in dead money if he was dealt.
