They really need to get the third one. Then they can morph into the Gronk Megazord, which is 12 feet tall, 600 pounds, and runs a 3.1 40 yard dash, with 6 foot long arms.

It didn't make sense to sign, then cut him.  NOW it makes sense, as they will bring him in/out as dictated by health at other positions.  Welch being released seems to clear the way for him.  I liked that they signed him, didn't like that they cut him, but again, it didn't seem like something they would do unless they had long term plans.

    Re: Dan Gronkowski

They never cleaned out his locker so everyone knew he was coming back. He was cut because he had a hamstring injury so he couldn't play and they needed a roster spot.

But like others have mentioned his stint with the club might a short one once some of the guys on the PUP come back.

Also once Vollmer is healthy Solder most likely will be used as the 3rd TE again.

We never know.  In Foxboro, some guys stick and become semi-famous, while others disappear from that 53rd spot in a week or two.

My dumb guess is that Gronk Lite will somewhat stick for the year, now that his hamstring completely works again.  BB knows what he saw up close and he brought Gronk Lite back.  That's a good sign.

BB needs a third tight end, especially someone experienced.  BB would probably never pick up Gronk Lite just for his brother's sake.  The guy can actually be a blocking tight end and maybe catch a screen pass too, even if he can't catch like his brother or like Hernandez.

Probably there for the power running game if needed. I really don't see much other value. AKA Alge Crumpler light.

We need to pick up Gronk III when and if Indy lets him go.

The best thing about re-signing Gronk Lite is what it says about the rest of the team.  Nobody else is secretly playing hurt, and so BB can concentrate on the TE position.

totally paul, tom, not just for running, but so gronk can spend more time in the passing game instead of blocking
