Per @RapSheet, Amendola gets 5 years from Pats at $31M. $10 guaranteed. Avg: $6.1.

Honestly, this leads me to believe they aren't changing their philosophy. Amendola is a very similar player to Welker.
They're choosing value over quality.
The Patriots agreed to a 5-year deal with Danny Amendola, source says. 5 years, $31M. $10 guaranteed. Avg: $6.1

Mike Reiss @MikeReiss
When Wes Welker was traded to Patriots in 2007, he signed a five-year deal, same length Amendola agrees to with Patriots today

LOL 6.1 million per.
Well, we did just get a lot younger at the slot position. If this kid can stay healthy, perfect.
I want to know the cap hit in the first year though, hopefully its on the low side...

Yeah, you have to figure the .1 was a not so subtle message, sort of like Welkers foot press conference about Ryan and the Jets -

Other than being fragile, what do we know about Amendola?

Sweet player who is solid replacement for Welker. Maybe Tom will spread the ball around a bit more, which will help the O. Now, let's draft a guy for oudside who can fly and strech the field to replace Lloyd.

if he stays healthy, the pats have just improved their chances of winning the super bowl with letting wes walk and signing amendola.

Well, Amendola can play half of the season and Edelman can play half... hopefully they're not BOTH injured at the same time... considering Amendola has only played in 12 games over the past two seasons, he's only averaging 6 games healthy per season, so we'll need 10 from Edelman. That sounds like asking a lot from either to me.
