Both sides of the ball are to blame.. Pats had a 13 - 7 lead at the half with that Brady brainfart to end the first half and not call a TO to at least get another shot at the end zone.  That, in itself, seemed to have started the O going in the tank.  No big plays at all to match what the Ravens were doing.  Unlike the SB last year, there WAS no lead late in a game for the D to protect.

The bigger brain f@rt and can not believe no one even mentioned it was Hernandez not running out of bounds on the previous play. ...and that's not to excuse Brady or BB for not calling one sooner. Frankly amazed Simms did not even mention it. Clueless.

Its not the first time either. Hernandez, I love him, but he's a dumb football player.

It's BB's fault for constructing a team that's just not good enough.

Thankyou! Someone with a clue. No pass rush, which exposes porous secondary, no dynamic playmakers on the outside on offense, which means that no one can get open on 3rd and 10, and when the Pats gets punched in the mouth, they seem to wilt now because the team is closer to being a finesse team than a physical team. Where's the 6'3 220 lb athletic wr's on the outside?

The first round picks that looked brilliant early in the year did not come close to replacing Carter and Anderson from last year.

Where were the defensive turnovers we relied upon all year?

    Re: Defense at fault

The defense didn't play well...no pass rush, gave up plays in coverage, and missed many tackles on the way for first downs by their running backs.

I would not solely put blame on them though for this game, our offense stunk. Brady stunk. The line played well. I thought the backs played well enough. It looked like some guys were open...Brady played average. Average will not get it done when your defense plays like they did tonight.

ive got to say that I've been saying all year long that Ridley was going to get himself killed with that stupid spin move he does. What does he think is going to happen? The defenders are just going to magically disappear when he turns around? That fumble hurt too.

Yep best hang your hat on this one since you can't say the defense did not have a single 3 and out this game like so many have hung on to in th past.

D gave the O 3 of them in this game.

What was the Offense in this game 1 for 5 or something like that in the red zone?

Brady QBR of 45.1. Passer Rating of 62.3.

Yep was certainly all on the defense. You are a genius.

Dude, the defense completely stunk in the second half. Cannot be denied. Yes the offense stunk in the second half also. Therefore both contributed to the loss. Putrid pathetic performance in the second half. Brady's final INT just made it look a little worse because the game was allready over by then.

An intelligent fan expects offensive struggles against good defensive teams. What you don't expect is Joe Flacco to look like Joe Montana.  We had 40+ takeaways in 2012 in 16 games. Today we had zero.

you couldnt be any more wrong. the ravens scored 35 points last week on a top rated defense, everyone knew they had a legit offense. an intelligent fan would expect a team that averaged 34 ppg and also scored 30 points on the ravens the last time the played, to score more than 13 freakin points. the offense choked yet again. defense wasnt great, but they played well enough to keep it a game, the offense didnt.

The "greatest" QB in the NFL managed only one TD in a loss and you blame the D?

    Re: Defense at fault

both the offence and the defence played horrible, they lost as a team, the defence has been pretty much horrible the entire season until the aqusition of talib and moving mcourty to safety. that helped alot but in the nfl, and with the pats especially, brady and the offence have bailed the defence out the entire season. when was the last time the defence won a game for the patriots? its simple. give brady a deep threat, and fire matt patricia. bring in a coordinator that actually knows how to call a game. find another legit corner/safety, and get a dline that can actually put pressure on the qb. the defence has been the achillies heel the entire season, dont fool yourself.

At this point, we can woulda, shoulda, coulda, what if, why and all other question marks this game to death and it won't change a thing other than our venting.  Now that the Pats are out of it, time to slow it down until training camp.  Besides, you folks up in NE think it is bad, try living down here in the Baltimore area and watch the news...  it is Purple Love everywhere with much slamming of the Pats.  Very grateful winners down here!

Defense is garbage. Or, exactly the same as you.
