There's no way he plays.  I'm sure they're signing him to try to gain some competitive edge by getting some insight on the Pats playbook.

It's kind of funny when you bring Collie into the equation.

    He is signed.... http://blogs.colts.com/2014/01/06/indianapolis-colts-make-roster-moves-47/

In a previous comment on Rotoworld:

Free agent WR Deion Branch worked out for the Colts.
It's the first time we've heard the 34-year-old's name in half a year. Branch has little to nothing left in the tank and wouldn't be anything more than the No. 5 receiver in Indianapolis. RB Shaun Draughn also worked out for Indy. Wed, Dec 11, 2013 07:39:00 PM

Really?  Who'd they lose to require an additional WR in camp?

The Indianapolis Colts agreed to terms with veteran wide receiver Deion Branch, less than one week before they play Branch's former team in the playoffs.

The 34-year-old former Super Bowl MVP last played in 2012, when he caught 16 passes for 145 yards in 10 games with New England.

Branch worked out for the Colts in early December.

In other roster moves Monday, the Colts elevated wide receiver Josh Lenz from the practice squad to the active roster and placed defensive end Fili Moala and cornerback Greg Toler on injured reserve.

That's going to be a strange site - Branch in Foxboro wearing a Colt's uniform...

Insight into what?  The Pats, sans their monster 2 TE tandem, are totally different than when Branch was part of the team.  Besides, when have we ever seen such a signing be integral to the signing team's success?

There is nothing Deion can tell them. Our O is nothing like he remembers. And our running game is unknown to him as well. He has nothing left in the tank and the signing is silly and I doubt he even dresses for the game.

Teams change their playbook constantly.  I'm not saying he's going to give them any insight that holds any water.  This is just a desperation move to squeeze anything out of him that could possibly have any value.

Do you think they signed him to play?  IMO, they signed him for his brains only.

    Exactly.

The last 2 years every CB in the league was able to hang right on his hip.  He's a shadow of his former self.
