"Free agent linebacker Derrick Brooks signed on Wednesday but not with an NFL team. The veteran of 14 seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers joins Tedy Bruschi as an in-studio NFL analyst for ESPN. Brooks, 36, had been rumored as a potential fill-in LB with the Patriots for the injured Jerod Mayo, who is reportedly out 6-8 weeks with a sprained MCL.
