    Re: Derrick Harvey

The comments on his draft board were pretty impressive...  Only 3 seasons in and Reiss had an article up today about how it can take a few years to really amp up your pass rush in the NFL.  I like him.

Try him out, cut him next week if he shows nothing. I can't believe he weighs 274, wasn't he 250 at the combine?

In Response to Re: Derrick Harvey:
Yeah, I don't have an opinion on the guy after not really watching much of Jax in recent years, but I just thought maybe you kick the tires as a tryout scenario and maybe the Cunningham/Spikes thing is a selling point. Maybe a cheap 3rd down specialist type.  Just maybe see how he looks in preseason up against Eric Moore and Wright. Jax paid a pretty penny and got really no return on him, so I can see why they couldn't wait to get rid of him. He out-produce Gholston, though. lol

You can't teach physical talent.  I don't see why not - the market itsn't high for mid-twenties guys who didn't pan out in their first few years.

    Re: Derrick Harvey

i was wondering about him too...and honestly, who really does play well in jax other than maybe some running backs. just based on our lack of depth at the position in camp i dont see why it would hurt to give him a look and see if he can revive his career. although the level of hatred that the jax fans had for him is pretty impressive if you look at some of their comments after he left. very different than niners fans on lawson, who are pretty much of the opinion that he was disappointing, time to move on. for harvey its more like he was the worst player in franchise history, thank god he's gone.

I would love for them to bring this guy in. Lots of potential and I think BB and co. could get the best out of him.
