There seems to be a lot of people posting lately about getting a big corner to improve the secondary.  Part of this is driven by the success of Sherman and Browner in Seattle who are both huge.  That being said there are lots of productive corners who are listed at 6 feet or less such as Darrelle Revis, Jonathan Joseph, Tim Jennings, Lardarius Webb, Champ Bailey, Asante Samuel, Carlos Rogers, Cortland Finnegan and Brandon Flowers.  There are probably more.

The point here is that size is an overrated attribute in DBs.  It is a nice bonus, but if you're good you're good.

Most of the reason, imo, that you don't see big corners is that if they were big and could run and have hands, they are receivers not db's.

Is he practically uncoverable, consistent reliable hands, stay healthy and on the field, able to be on the same page as Brady, block, good with YAC?

For me size would fall behind all of those. Granted size may or may not contribute to some of those other attributes.

All things being equal however, who would not take the taller WR.

It will always be the same way. Some guys can just play and others can not. The measurables alone simply do not tell the story.

The tall corner that can play is very very rare - tall corners don't usually have fluid hips and can't turn and run well enough to stick with NFL recievers...they don't grow on trees. The likely hood of us finding any corner that can play (never mind a tall one) would be awesome.

I think what the big CB brings to the table is the crushing hit he gives you and helps jar the ball lose. The only guys you mentioned about worth anything is Reavis, and he can't hit for anything, but he's pretty good covering. Samuels can't tackle.
