I'm no cap expert but, since the Broncos dropped the ball resigning him he would be a prime grade A FA pick up!!! First we stick it to Denver for Welker and he is better than Feeney and is in his prime. Suppossedly it is a "buyers market" this off season with DEs. So if anyone with knowledge of cap space in the NFL is determined I would appreciate their input.
Do we have the cap $$$ to sign Elvis Dumervil ?

Michael Bennett is a great young DE and he went for a steal price of only 5m a year.
Getting Dumervil for around 7m average, slightly less than his restructured agreement with Denver, would be a major coup, so much better than having BOTH Freeney and Abraham.
But, like you, I don't know if we still have the cap space

If they do release Lyold, sign
Sanders for 2.5 and restructure Vince
than they should. We know some
of the details on the signed players
but what the current cap hit is a
guess until we see what it is .
I would say 5/40M with
20 Guaranteed should get it done.
If we could get Abeaham for 2M
He could be a good fill in.

It would make sense to sign a free agent that is not old or often injured, but I just don't see it happening.

He's not very good against the run and I can't remember the last time Bb offered a big contract to a Dlineman who couldnt defend the run

this is one of the most interesting/captivating situations Ive seen in a long time. The more I read about this and him as a player the more I would love to have him in the fold. Age, talent, btch slap broncos...its got it all. If it was my money I would pay a bit of a premium just to stick it to the Horse head twins, manning and elway.

Me too, I would love to stick it to them and who knows?? Maybe we will - the guy fills a need and he is young enough. Dumervil can get after the passer, there's no doubting that. -

We don't have to worry about the run cause we have Vince in the middle and LBs who are graet run-stoppers. What we don't have is someone who can get to the QB with any regularity---Dumervil can do that.
I'd love to steal him from Elway after all the gloating he did once the Broncos picked up Welker. -

Dumervil is on the edge. In a 4-3, The DEs will need to eat up some of those blocks so that those great run stuffing LBs can get to the Rb...
