1.Yes, who wouldn't want a 100 catch a year receiver. The caveat being they don't over pay for a 32 year old receiver who has a history of not making the clutch catch. I would offer him 2 years 16 million 10 guaranteed.
2. Yes, he will be back but it will be contentious. They will offer him a 2 year 20 million deal probably with 11 million guaranteed and he will refuse. They will then franchise him.

Vollmer's getting the franchise tag.. welker is gone buddy. :) can't wait til it's official.
I think they sign Vollmer. I think because of his injury history they can get Vollmer at a team friendly deal. That leaves the tag for Welker unless Wes takes a team friendly deal which I doubt he would. The reason I say he is coming back on the tag is because the Pat's wanted to sign him to a 2 year deal last year, obviously at their price.
If they do tag Vollmer you are correct Welker is gone.

Vollmer played in 17 out of 18 games this season and is a 2 time 2nd team All-NFL player.. he is going to be looking for big $. let's not kid ourselves here.
I agree this year he stayed on the field, the previous years he was constantly out. When on the field is one of the premiere RT's in the NFL.
I think they offer him 3 yrs 12 to mil 16 mil range depending on the guarantee. I think the issue will be what gets guaranteed.
