Hahahaha!!  You gotta admit, that is a classic picture!!

You just don't let a guy with his stats and importance to the offense such as he is walk away. Who do you put in his place?    Could you imagine what would have happened had they let Welker go this past season?

uhhh they probably would have lost in the playoffs.. just like they did WITH welker getting his $9 mill.

They would have been sunk.  Edelman went out, Gronk went out who would they have gone to?  They need to address a deeper threat to add to the offense, Lloyd isn't the answer and you want to mess with the mid to short field passing game and let go the most productive player on the offense.  Brilliant!  Instead of getting rid of Welker, why not Lloyd instead?

uhhh lloyd is under contract for about $3.5 mill.. he's not a FA like welker seeking $8+ mill... understand?

So you say they make the playoffs without Welker.  Maybe, mabe not.  And if they did would they have been a # 2 seed or a 5th maybe 6th seed?  And would they have won their first playoff game?  Would they even have a shot at going to the AFC Championship game?  Would they even have a shot at winning that AFC Championship game and going to the Super Bowl?  Would they even have a chance at winning the Super Bowl?  I'm sure the answer to all those questions with the exception of making the playoffs would be NO!

So concerning your remark about Lloyd and Welkers contracts.  So you want to get rid of Welker instead of Lloyd because Welkers contract would be about $4.5-$5 mill more then Lloyds?  The problem with the offense is the deep ball, Lloyd doesn't offer that so you want to get rid of a player who provides the most production for the offense and keep the player who doesn't give the team what it needs, just to save $4.5-$5 mill?  Makes no sense to me.

go ahead and get rid of lloyd too lol. if BB cut him i wouldn't make a fuss. but that's not who we are talking about so stop with the red herring arguments. lloyd isn't a free agent and he hasn't made the 2 biggest drops of the season for the past 2 years like wes buckner has.

before wes, NE won 3 SB's. with wes, they have won 0... they play to win SB rings not to win one game in the playoffs or make it to the SB and lose. wes isn't as important as you think, get over it.

They havent won a SB with 95% of the players on that team.  To say they even make a SB without Welker is a crazy statement!  How do you make a SB without the most productive player on the team?  That argument is bogus!  And to put the SB loss all on Welker is just plain ignorant.  There were a dozen other plays that was part of the reason they loss, yet you want to put it all on one player who couldn't come up with a difficult, poorly thrown pass?  It's not like he dropped a perfect pass in the endzone.  It still wouldn't have won them the game.  What if he made the catch and they fumbled the snap on the very next play?  What if they couldn't get the ball in the endzone and the FG was blocked or missed?  Very bogus to put it all on him.
