I gotta say, this is interesting that LT Matt Light is being watched by the strength coach and medical staff.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Welcome to Gillette Stadium, where the Patriots host the Dolphins (1 p.m.) as they attempt to keep pace for the AFC's top playoff seed.

Mike Reiss/ESPN BostonPatriots tight end Rob Gronkowski on GameDay cover.

Weather conditions. A thermometer at the visitors' tunnel reminds the Dolphins that it is a cold one here today. Temperatures are expected to be in the low 30s at kickoff, with winds around 10 miles per hour (Weather.com link). This will be the Patriots' coldest game to date this season.

Riveron gets the call. Alberto Riveron's crew has been assigned to referee today's game.

Seven inactives 90 minutes before kickoff. The Patriots must declare seven players inactive 90 minutes before kickoff today. Offensive lineman Sebastian Vollmer is expected to be one of them (injury report here). The Dolphins have already ruled out TE Anthony Fasano, which makes it a stronger possibility that rookie TE Will Yeatman -- who was with the Patriots in training camp -- could be active for the second time this season.

GameDay program. Tight end Rob Gronkowski is pictured on the cover of the GameDay program being sold at Gillette Stadium today.

    A look at on-field temperatures.

Television information. Today's game will be broadcast on CBS, with Ian Eagle (play-by-play) and Dan Fouts (analysis) on the call. This is their first Patriots game of the season.

National anthem/Color Guard. The national anthem will be sung by Wes Miles from Ra-Ra Riot. The Color Guard is United States Navy Recruiting/New England Branch.

    Re: Dolphins/Patriots Game Thread

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- In an unexpected development, starting left tackle Matt Light was looked at closely by members of the team's medical/training staff during warmups as it appears he's sustained a lower right leg injury.

Light was not listed on the team's injury report, but as he loosened up on the field, Patriots team doctor Thomas Gill and others watched closely. Light kept looking down at his lower right leg as he worked on getting out of his stance.

Even if Light suits up today, this will be an area to watch as the Dolphins' edge pressure can be disruptive with Cameron Wake, Jason Taylor and Co.

If Light does not play -- and official word will come shortly -- rookie Nate Solder would likely start at left tackle with rookie Marcus Cannon stepping in at right tackle.

These Boston reporters need to get their stuff straight.

We've all been hearing for the past 2-3 weeks how Chung and Spikes would be making their return.

Rather disappointing. Thought we'd finally get to see them. I'm hoping that Belichick is holding them as a precaution, and making sure that they're 100% healthy when they return given that they've already locked up a playoff birth.

If there's anything serious going on with either of them that'd be a big blow, but I figure that they'd both be on IR by now if that was the case.

We can get by the 'Phins without them, but come playoff time, we'll need them.

two key players today for Dolphins to watch out for...

Cameron Wake on Defense and Reggie Bush on Offense - if we can neutralize these two, we should have a decent game..

Light being out is a concern,

    #1 Priority Protect TB12
#2 Priority Win Some Way, Somehow - This could be a very high scoring game.....

Seriously Spikes and Chung are useless for the year.  Even if they come back they both have missed 2 months.  They will not be in football shape.  They come back in the play-offs and it will be like pre-season for them.  Just like Spikes was useless when he came back from the 4 game suspension in the Jets game.
