BB changed it up this year with the better rookie wage scale - instead of getting a bunch of 2nd/3rd rounders for depth he made a bunch of lost cost FA signings for depth - and drafted 2 potential game changers on D because if he misses it doesn"t cost so much anymore - I like it
There appears to be good talent through the 2nd round - I love the way BB has played the draft this year:) -

If we can find a way to get still and smith then this is one H LL of a draft. -

So are these guys immidiate impact guys from day 1 or does BB take his time with his new 1st roudners and slowly work them into the defense? -

2 very good players. the pats have been so close to winning a superbowl, at this point they needed a couple of guys like this to put them over the top, rather than getting four 3rd or 4th rounders. -

I can't believe they moved up...let alone twice. Glad I didn't make any bets or else I'd be dining on my hat tomorow.
Well done...I'm happy they went after some solid talent rather than average talent. Maybe that's the difference for getting off the field once or twice...or making a big play in crunch time... -

At this point we could use a 3-4 DE to go next to Wilfork and Fanene. If we can plug that hole, and add some secondary depth we'll be sitting pretty. Obviously QB is set, our offensive line is solid, our two TE's are great, and Fells adds depth. We have a ton of WR depth, and should get 5-6 solid guys out of that group. I like what we have in Woodhead, Vereen, and Ridley, and we added FB's.All we needed was defense, and we've added that in the best way possible. If we add secondary depth and DL help, this team will be VERY scary. -

All our secondary might just have gotten a lot better. It's amazing what a halfway decent pass rush can do to cover up in the secondary. -

Posted by sporter81That plus the rookie wage scale.NE is basically going for broke. Which might be good. They filled two of the three huge talent holes they've been trying to game plan around.#1 Outside WR -- signing Lloyd.#2 Drafting a pass rusher in the draft. All they need to do is shore up the secondary a touch.... maybe grabbing a Harrison SMith if he is hanging around, or snagging the troubled but talented Janoris Jenkins helps answer that.Schemes can only work around weak talent so much.BB wants a defense that can force errors out of opponents. I'm lukewarm on the picks ... but love the positional ideas. -

No wonder they went kind of nuts in FA...perhaps they figured they'd put more eggs in the FA basket this year versus the last couple where they drafted a ton of guys.
