Probably would be a good value move on our part. I'm just sick of picking corners high every year and then watching them have to cover for way too long, because the QB could eat a sandwich back there.

solder? really? not a DE such as jordan? oh well i did call that we would take a OT first, but i didn't think jordan/prince would fall.

I just hung myself...we are drafting for the future and it's unfortunate, because Brady is not going to be here forever. Guess we'll be watching Sanchez burn us for 40 yard pass and catches in the fourth quarter again next year.

Nice pick, Guys!  Solder was my second choice for my Colts.  Carimi's still there, so I'm crossing my fingers...

Never gonna touch the opposing QB. Sanchez is going to have a field day with us, again. -_-...

Wow.  I like Solder a lot, but I can't believe we passed on Jordan.  Oh well, BB knows what he's doing.

I hope we get some OLB help later though--go go go Jabaal!

Yes, it's not a flashy pick but he's going to be a big part of our offensive line for the next 10-12 years. He let up only 5 sacks in 3 full seasons; that's impressive.

OK, Nate Solder.  nfl.com/combine says that he has 35 1/2 inch arms to wrap up Dwight Freeney and is 6'8" tall.  That's a pretty good start.  Top performer in the 20 yard shuttle, so he's going to be a pulling tackle sometimes.

    Like Vollmer but bigger.

    Matt Light, call your agent.

lol i was thinking the same thing. when mccourty was selected, they said he was a special teams player... year later he's a pro bowler.

    Re: Draft day thread

at least now we have a great set of bookends with 6'8"+ guys on both sides and it allows BB to play either vollmer on the left or right and potentially use solder as a TE. now if we can only get a DE at 28 and perhaps brooks reed/martez wilson at 33

This team desperately needs a DE.  Pats will continue get torched by every QB in the league until they can have some pass rush. Right now, our pass rushing is maybe the worst in the NFL. There is no  playmakers.
