Lets trade for Larry fitzgerald.    Unless we get some Good D and a Decent WR our team is worse.  Let the Shoping Begin. BB lets get the groceries.

NO!!!!! But, you had the right idea when you mentioned to fix the secondary. That is what the Pats MUST do! Fix the "D". Add a rough, tough SS (Bernard Pollard??). Sign CBs Aqib Talib and/or Sean Smith. Nmandi Asomugha also might be had on the cheap. These three are all big CBs. Add a beast of a pass-rusher. If the Pats can fortify their defense to the point that it becomes as good a unit as the McGinest/Seymour/Law/Bruschi dynasty group, Wes Welker won't be missed.

Let's not forget an improved pass rush to limit/disrupt a QBs timing and time to throw. We have as much need on the DL as other areas of weakness...especially if we're serious about another SB run!

I agree they need to focus on defensive players, particularly in the secondary. I wouldn't overpay for a receiver like Amendola just because Welker bolted. They'll still find a way to score points. I don't see Pollard though, just don't get the sense it would work chemistry wise.  Talib and Asomugha would be a nice start.

They have to fix the D some how. It felt like the past few years if the pats dont score over 30 points then their D could not keep them in the Game.   Ed Reed, Asomugha, Huff, Jennings, Somebody. I know we have to build for the future but brady took a pay cut and its tough to see other teams get better and we lose One of our best players.
