    Dumbest onside kick ever?

What was dumber. The Pats onside kick against the steelers or the fake punt against the Jets in the play offs.

Even if they stop them the Pats will have horrible field position. If the steelers get only a few yards they are in field goal range and the Steelers could be up by 9 and game over.

Then why would giving the ball to the steelers on the 45 yard line help the defense. In fact it takes pressure off the Steelers coaching staff. Unless the Pats get a turnover the pats will be pinned deep with no time outs.

Has Ghost ever had a succesful onside kick with the Pats. I know the Pats are usually winning so it does not come up often but I can't remember any. The preseason maybe?

wow. so u guys would rather have 1 chance to get the ball back instead of 2. makes perfect sense...

a first down ends the game reguardless of where it happens. and if u think Brady can't bring the team 80 yards to a TD if we had gotten a stop, then u obviously missed the game against the cowboys.

probabilities. onside kick was a smart move/play. the kick itself was executed poorly.

You are wrong. The Steelers got a first down and the Pats got the ball back. On their own 20 instead of the 40 -50 yard line. That is a huge diference with no time outs. Please note that those posts were made as the game was being played. Not afterwords. We were criticizing the kick even before Brady's final fumble that iced a game that was basically over.
