Outside of Branch is there another Pats player that has ever been brought back under BB? (not counting all the practice squad maneuvers).  Doesn't happen very often.

could be scheme frnk.  The average fan may just see miss tackles, but their new "D" coordinator was a special teams coach.

Have you noticed what they were doing early on with the CB/Safety switch?

I dont know if you recall the 03, 04 years where Rodney was here playing with Ty Law, but against the Colts at times they would invert the position, by putting Ty in the back like a safety and putting Rodney up at the line. The Idea is to get a bigger body on the Wr to jam him which would slow him down and when he does release you have the Cb taking him from there with an easier assignment and you disrput the timing with the Qb.

Well, lets just say it wasnt working in Philly. They Had Page up at the line playing CB and moved Asante of all people back to the safet spot where he was allowing Back to just cruise into the endzone, so the whole defensive philosophy over there is SHYT, so I wouldnt take that as Page being done. Anyone would looked lost in that mess and they all do coincidently..

Was he released or placed on waivers? If he was just released there is no waiver process and as a 5 year vet he is simply a FA.

All released players must pass threw waivers after the trade deadline expires. Page will clear waivers if not claimed by 4:00 pm EST today.

Prior to the trade deadline vested vetrans ( 5 yr.) do not have to pass threw waivers they imediately become free agents, only non vested players pass threw waivers.

We all know that the Pats are thin in the secondary.  J.P is an experience vet and used to play for the Pats before.  BB should considering hiring him unless J.P has a health issue.

Released is for a veteran (4 yrs), thus he's available to sign with any team immediately. Otherwise the player is waived (on waiver wire for 24 hrs).

In Response to Re: Eagles Release Jarrad Page : Nice sig. Read your post out loud and then read your sig. Page wasn't "rated behind Brown". Please do your homework. NE tendered Page as a 2nd comp option under the old CBA. When the CBA expired in the spring, that luxury disappeared. They then decided to try to see what Brown could do.

The sig holds true. You guys are holding to the illusion that these second tier players like Page are going to help this team. If they really wanted Page they would have signed him, instead they opted for Brown. To me that doesn't say much for Page. So lose the illusion of Page is my best advice to you. He is not the answer this year.

    Interesting.

I wondered if Reid wasn't helping out Belichick since the Eagles are all but done and their safety play in general has stunk this year such that Page's replacement couldn't do worse (ergo, like James Sanders, Page has higher value to the Patriots than anywhere else)
