Anyone who watched Sunday's game and says that it signifies Edelman is better than Welker is:

    A)  posting to get a rise out of people

    B)  a pre-teen who thinks the shiniest is the best

    C)  lacking understanding of the game of football

    D)  all of the above

    Re: Edelman > Welker!?

    TD's

    Welker 5th with 9

    Edelman 34th with 4

    1st Downs

    Welker 10th with 42 = 65% of receptions are for 1st downs

     Edelman 42nd with 28 = 46% of receptions are for 1st downs

The simple version: DYAR means a wide receiver with more total value. DVOA means a wide receiver with more value per play.

     Welker DYAR = 181 Rank 16th, DVOA = 11.1% Rank 24th

     Edelman DYAR = 53 Rank 51st, DVOA = -5.0% Rank 55th

Ouch!  This one really hurts your claim.

    What was Belichick thinking?

Oh good made up stats for PFF or some s***.  But when you look at CIBG Welker is leading. CIBG equals Chokes in big games.  Welker is first among all receivers and Edelman is 11,000th.

    Amendola/Edelman>Welker

    Clearly.

Age, drop rate, 2 is better than 1, diversity in skill sets, big plays, etc.

Thanks again BB for the shrewd cap investments at the WR position. It's changed everything, including how Brady reads his progressions and forced him to spread it around. Balance.

Brady is better, our offense is better.

    That is one pathetic post.

That is the best you can do to show that Danny boy and Jules are better then Welker?

And you are thanking Bill Belichick for paying a complete bust $6 million bucks?

And needing two players to fill one person's shoes?

Pretty weak argument you make there.  Filling a roster with the best possible players has been a very big challenge for Bill Belichick over the past several years.  He might want to consider bringing in a GM who knows what he is doing.
