So pure speculation.
But a lot of people have noticed that he has started following the 49ers and Anquan Boldin on twitter.
And if I'm not mistaken, he was in Cali as early as last week.
Might be nothing, might be a whole lot of something.
My take, 49ers keep things on the relative DL kind of like the Patriots, I'm thinking this means something.

Why would any team want a college QB turned WR who can't stay healthy or catch a Football?

In response to RidingWithTheKing's comment:
Would be a great pick up for them in that offense. He'd also replace Ginn on punt returns. He could also be used as the backup to Kaepernick, which saves a roster spot.
No it won't. Training bra troll.

Edelmann should find some way to stay in NE. It's his best chance for a long career.

The 9ers let their punter returner, Ted Ginn, walk. Edelman is a top-flight punt returner, who was beginning to blossom as a WR, until he got hurt.
