Eerie, isn't it??? The Pats D and last possessions for the other team!!

Pats have the lead late on the Giants with about 3 minutes and change to go and the Giants have only ONE time out!  Giants have to drive 90 yards just to get into a position to take a lead.  Like in SB42, ONE BIG play did the Pats in and the D couldn't make a key stop on that last Giants possession.  Even when the Pats are leading big, the D has this tendency to give up plays and yards and late scores.  This time it hurt most because the Pats lost the big one.  Just where is that killer instinct to simply shut the other team down late??!!

I feel like the offense just keeps putting them out there until something breaks.  Lets face it, ONE more touchdown and we aren't having this conversation.

What killed the Pats again, were running plays that seemed to be the right choice at the time, but, execution was poor.  Result, too much reliance on the passing game and this results in quick scores.  When the D can't get the other team off the field, the Pats are their own worst enemy!  PS - this is post #6000!!!!

The PATS D kept them in the game. The offense stunk it up. Brady pick was costly and dumb. He just does not have the arm for that anymore. Sorry, but the o cost them the game.

What mattered was 9 referee points handed to the Giants.  Fraud. Patriots won. Why has AGS started at least 3 pro-Giant discussions in the last half hour.

Rocky, I was so looking forward to post #6000 be something wild about a Patriots win!!  It was looking good, especially when the Pats had the ball late in the 4th and appeared to be doing well to put the game on ice.  Then came the running play on 1st down and the 1 yard loss.  That, in my opinion, turned the game toward the Giants!

Oh yeah. That was the whole game.  The 9 referee points were far less significant.  Why are you starting so many discussions per hour.

This one is much more painful than 2007 because with 4 minutes left the Pats had the lead and the ball. They were driving it then the screwed it up badly with 3 straight sloppy plays.

Wait? What 9 referee points? I thought the refs called a good game. The Patriots DBs were very aggresive and there were three or four plays that could have been called PI, but the refs kept their flags in their pockets for the most part. There were nine penalties in the whole game.

The Patriots lost that game with dropped passed and big plays by the Giants at the end of the game.

correction... the d held nyg down to 15 pts including the safety. if not for that safety, they probably would not given up that last td.

it was the o that could not score in the last 26 minutes of the game.

holy cow... how some people can still put the blame for the loss on the d is unbelievable. hell the o will score 10 pts in a game and they still would think the o played well enough. is it really too much to expect a tb-led team to score more than 20 pts in a sb game?

When you develop a sack, come talk with the big boys. Until then, keep the biased, sore losing BS out of the forum. Maybe a move to the middle east would make you feel more at home. Take the hate with you.

Re: Eerie, isn't it??? The Pats D and last possessions for the other team!!

The catch on the Giants last drive was a great play by the receiver. It demoralized the defense and the coaches panicked...letting them walk it in and sit on the goal line. Pathetic. The Patriots do not have the talent for deep threats when needed and the defense is porous...you have to say see it unless you are blind. Welker is not a receiver accustomed to deep routes and his dropped pass reflects that deficiency. Perhaps they might have pulled it out if Gronkowski had been able to play his normal game. Once again, Brady is outplayed by his opposite number. Doesn't look like his head is in the game. Both the offense and defense sparkled for about half of the plays in the game. The other half was just deplorable. They struggled. They need better personnel evaluation and selection. I think this era has come to its end.

Why Cant The Defnse stop it when it matters and bring a big play ,

that's when we need the defensive stop more than ever
Bills game , Giants regular Season and SB
And giving up large chunks of yards to mediocre qb .

please one stop outside of moores great play
i cant remember a defensive stop when it mattered

If The Pats D had faced the Packers or Saints, it wouldn't have been eerie, it would have been a blowout!  The Pats had a golden opportunity to win a 4th superbowl, and they gave it away.  Hopefully, the Pats get another shot, but the Pats got lucky this season to even get to the superbowl, and they can't expect that kind of luck every year.

because they were hoping the d could stop nyg from converting the 1st down. once that 1st dwn was converted, time was their enemy. pats had to burn their last time out to stop the clock on second down. and from there nyg could have just knelt the ball twice to take 30 more secs off the clock before scoring the game winning short fg. that would have left tb 30 secs to work with to try and score - not enough.

The Problem I had with the defense was the game plan
not enough pressure giving manning the dink and dank options to nicks
and when the giants were without BOTH TE why not blitz more
i dint like the play calling on the giants last drive .

the giants without te in the last drive  and we rush 3 guys
can the play calling get any worse

Would you have rather they run the clock out and kick a field goal with no time left? The real problem was Brady's error at the beginnning. If you're up 17-13 instead, the Giants would have had to score a TD rather than a FG to win the game. Once the defense let them run down the field inside the 20, they had effectively lost.
