Well, it's hard to ignore now with many ranting and raving about trendy names on D being added every offseason to pretend it will make Brady a better QB in the postseason again.

Well, no BB is trying another angle, with no turning back.

There can be no more excuses now for Brady. There just can't, especially if BB nails another draft, his 4th or 5th in a row.

The trolls have tried every angle from mocking our good players, to mocking Kraft for a mythical "he's cheap" mantra, to deflecting from Brady's responsibilities as the leader and best player come January, but there are no more excuses.

Brady has been given any apparent entitled HOF QB could ever ask for later in his career.

The minor holes they now have to fill can be done through second tier FA and in the draft.

"there can be no more excuses now for Brady" !!!! wow. really?  Really? REALLY?

Guess he had to have an excuse when he drove the team down and took the lead late in SB in 2007. But you know how he just let that magic helmet get onto the field. That Brady... Cant trust him.

ANd when Wes dropped that ball? OK - it was a tough catch but it was catchable. But you know Brady has to throw 'em and catch 'em. Cant trust that Brady.

And those years with guys like Gronk and Mankins and Mayo and Vinny and Kelly and Vollmer and Talib and ... and... and ... That Brady just cant do his job keeping everyone healthy. I bet a different QB could have kept everyone healthy, right?

And how about Brady letting Hern break the law? Now really.... wouldnt you want to take away his excuses?

Until the Pats have a defense that can stand on it's own then just shut your pie hole.  Looks like BB has taken some advice from advisers Lombardi/Schiano, watched the Broncos load up and has decided to improve the defense.  Thank goodness, about time!!  Hopefully Brady doesn't have to continue to carry the entire team on his back, hopefully the defense will be one of the best this season, just like the Pats offense is every season.

Will Brady improve from his increasing INT rate and mediocre or poor play in AFC title games since 2007?

That is not old news at all, Bustchise. It will be the main story in the AFC title game in 2014.

Will GOmer choke or Brady?  That is what this is about. That's the story.

Will BB improve his pathetic D, that he's been trying to fix for the past 6 years?

Obviously not, but our new GM, Lombardi, has made great strides already.

    Thank You MR. Kraft!

Re: Elephant In The Room Part III

said it before and i'll say it again.

its a team game and when it comes down to it, Brady has had bad games, no doubt. but he also found a way to pull outta that and make a play to give us the lead.

SB42, the oline fell apart and actually the signs were pretty apparent early on in that San Diego game (on NFLN today) that the Oline was struggling. brady played bad in that game, 07 AFCCG, three bad picks.  but SB42 he had absolutely no time to throw and still in the end left with the lead.

SB46 the D couldnt get off the field or force a TO. (lookin at u Nink). but brady still did leave the field w a lead despite the poor throw/catch but he and WW.

but this year changes that. this defense will be the best we've had since 2007 or even before that. there is a ton of playmaking potential and now the team is very balenced imo.

so now its time for us to play a CLEAN TEAM GAME in the clutch for once. defense gets stops, offense is effiecent and scores, and we checkmate the other team.

this year feels like it could be that year with BB doing a phenominal job bringing in great draft picks on D (jones, collins hightower ryan and dennard) and signing REvis Island and Browner while also giving Brady Edelman LaFell again.

this is the best offseason in a while and we still havent drafted either. gonna be a big year for both sides of the ball to prove their playoff worth

Re: Elephant In The Room Part III

you guys on both sides are unrealistic.... it is true Brady needs to perfomr better in the biggest games of the year (ie AFC championship and Superbowl) however it is not the end of the world as it is being made out to be.

The Pats D has just not been good enough to either win the close game or keep us in games so the offense can establish stuff.

The O needs better receivers... period. O line needs to perform better in big games against the best defenses.

Brady is not the main reason for this but he does need time to pass and he needs receivers to get open... Then and Only then can you blame Brady when he misses the open guy or picks the wrong guy to throw to.

Has that happened more in some games than others yes. Is it happening more today than 10 years ago, realistically yes. Brady has to play better but so do the wide receivers and the offensive line.

I know that this is not as extreme as the thoughts shared here so neither side will acknowledge it, but the truth is, If the D played better, The O line played better and wide receivers got open a little more would we be having this conversation? I think not.

Also, Brady vs Peyton is a non-starter in my opinion. Brady is the better quarterback in big games or games on the line, period. Peyton was scared in the superbowl and he played that way. When the safety occured to the Pats they came back and were ahead late in the game, the Broncos folded and Manning never recovered. So please stop all the insanity and the elephant in the room BS... the only elephant in the room is the guy that started this thread.

Well. you are a liar and that's the problem.

Brady isn't criticized MUCH, because he's not the problem

The D IS criticized because they have been the problem

    See how that works?

One is bad and one is good.  Most people go after the bad thing because that is what makes sense to normal human beings, unlike yourself.

BB is criticized because he has put a shi ty, UNDERACHIEVING, D out there for years.  See?

Thus being rated at the bottom for years.

One is rated highly and leads a top offense and the other sucks.  Get it?

BB should also be criticized if he keeps and pays a crappy QB for years. ( if what you spew is true)

So, I guess you think bb sucks, too?

Apparently Kraft agrees, but not because the QB sucks.  Because he's tired of a bottom feeder defense that his defacto GM can't seem to fix.

    Thank god and Kraft, too!

Those late TDs came at the end becaue the offense failed so many times previously in embarrassing fashion.

In 2007, the all time leading NFL offense which shattered records, barely scored 14 with Brady, which is mortifying to this day.

17 aint't much better with a chance for 3 more on 3 drives in the 4th and to win it in SB 46.

The D sucked and wasted 2/3rds of the game on the field.  Eli played them like a drum and now peyton too!  Only peyton beat them better and louder.  Utter embarrassment.

Leaving out the parts of the game where the D failed as usual (really throughout), makes you are a liar.  Can't spin that one, topsy.
