He would be a nice pickup - esp his kickoff abilities....will help on 3rd down scat back as well...Need to re-sign Faulk though

Keep dreaming! They might make a push, but the first incidence of another team making a more aggresive move, they would pull out (read Boldin).

Boldin got more money from the Fins than most teams would have given. I'm glad the Pats didn't blow a lot of money trying to sign him.
The deepest draft in years is coming up this April and there are still moves that can be made to help the team while still keeping the cap in check.
The Pats should be looking to get younger where ever possible if they are to make another run at multiple years of success. Not just sign big names to bigger salaries. Just my 2 cents.

I think Washington is redundant if they re-sign Faulk and at this point, Faulk will only cost them money.

He's certainly a good option if they don't though.

Faulk and Washington are essentially the same players. No need to sign both, one or the other.

ESPN Insider SPECULATES that the Patriots may become interested, but it's not based on anything concrete...just like all their other "rumors".

I'd rather have Kevin Faulk at a pretty cheap contract and the 2nd round pick we would lose than sign L.Washington to pretty big contract and give away a 2nd round pick to one of our rivals.

    oh and by the way...

ESPN got that garbage rumor from a NY newspaper's rumor section. Its just pure speculation by a sports writer, yet ESPN posts it as if it were a credible source.

the Patriots are not interested in him. espn is just making stuff up and creating scenarios simply because the pats have 3 2nd round picks.

ok, and get Thomas Jones too if he doesn't sign with KC, then jettison the current RB corps save faulk.

that's bee funny a couple ex-jets running for the pats

Apparently, we're interested in anyone who is old enough to have played in the AFL, or is on the verge of becoming a vegetable, or is attempting to come back from a serious leg injury. Go Pats!! Hopefully forward.

An interesting tidbit from Felger regarding Kevin Faulk:

One final note, and you can call me crazy for feeling this way, but the continued free-agent status of Kevin Faulk scares me. I think he's instrumental to Tom Brady's comfort level, and no one should be surprised if Scott Pioli wants to provide that to Matt Cassel, Josh McDaniels to Kyle Orton, or Eric Mangini to Brady Quinn. Then there's Pete Carroll out in Seattle. He was Faulk's first coach. Maybe he wants to be his last. I don't know. I just think Faulk has a lot of value. And yet he's still dangling out on the market.

Re Washington....if anything just tweaking the Jets.  Faulk is still very valuable, far cheaper and costs no picks.
