No way so what Aaron Rodgers isn't ahead of Drew Brees or Manning (please forgive me for mentioning Manning) The NFC isn't near the AFC in competition and talent...See what the would do in the AFC, not win a SB ..60maxpowero.com

Re: Experts pick Brady - guess who they picked 2nd

I can just imagine if the Pats only had a defense that could hold the other team down in those last three playoff losses.

In the first of the string, SB loss to the Giants, Brady led the team to take the lead with less than 2 minutes to go against a Giant's D playing lights out.  Any other team that day would have been shut out.  Then we all know what the "vaunted" Giants offense did in those last 95 seconds!

Then we have the Ravens in '09... they jumped all over the Pats D and what could Brady have done.  What were they, down 21 or 24 - 0 before we knew what happened?  It wasn't like they were playng against a chump D.

Then the Jets in '10... our D against an offense that barely put up about 10 points a game over the last few games of the season and they give up 28!! Go figure. Plus the dropped passes in that game by the Pat's O. I will not "what if", it is what it is.

Couldn't agree more; everyone lays the blame on our offense for those loses...not so. The playoffs is where the men are separated from the boys and you need to be able to hold a closely matched opponent from scoring...not giving up back breaking, time consuming drives. We haven't been able to do that in a long time.

Re: Experts pick Brady - guess who they picked 2nd

The Super Bowl loss falls on the shoulders of the O-Line and the D, Brady did everything he possibly could have and he got them the lead when it mattered most. Then getting the ball back with about 40 seconds left was not a good position, especially when he gets sacked immediately on one of those plays.

The Ravens loss he does deserve a lot of the blame for, he looked shaky, much like he did through most of that season, he was coming back from a major injury that very well could have derailed his career. The D also deserves some blame for giving up 200 yards rushing. You should never lose a game where the opposing QB only completes 4 passes.

As for the Jets loss, he should shoulder some of the blame but really it was more due to the strength of the Jets secondary then anything else. A few drops and that huge TD catch late by Cotchery certainly didn't help either.

Re: Experts pick Brady - guess who they picked 2nd

So - lets see over the years the colts offense has replaced its entire offensive line with the exception of Saturday and including the TE (formerly Dilger and Pollard), James, Harrison, Stokely, and their defense has turned over completely since 05 with the exception of Freeney, Mathis, and Brackett.

And I don't think the comments say a single thing about where the players are "heading" or trending.

Well the truth is that Brady is less than 1.5 yrs younger than Manning, but you are correct that Manning has significantly more games under his belt.

Brady is a great choice as long as the pats aren't down by more than a FG, but anything more than that and NE is SOL.

What about opening game against the Bills in 09? Down 11 with 2 minutes left. You can poo-poo it all you want because its Buffalo but your comment is bull

gents - I was talking playoffs, because I assumed that's what the article was about.  I would hope that in Brady's career he's got a comeback from more than 7 pts down.

Here's what I do know.  In Brady's career, he is listed as having 32 Game Winning Drives and 23 4th Q comebacks.

    If you were wondering about Manning - 46 GWD's and 35 4th Q CB.

Re: Experts pick Brady - guess who they picked 2nd

tas - as for the slipping thing, the pundits have one valid reason for believing this (if they do).  His neck issue.

Otherwise, this thing become a yearly thing and last year Manning had his worst year in a decade, much of it (imo) due to the loss of key players and the worst offensive line he's played behind.  Don't forget he was MVP in 08 and 09 and in the SB in 09.

This year (if we its played) will be interesting.
