FAVRE ALLOWED PATS 2 DRAFT BUTLER / TATE

Ok... you're probaby wondering what the F I'm talkin about .

Here's how Favre helped Pats get D BUTLER & B TATE

    1) Favre comes out of retirement ( the 1st time ) and shows up at Packer Camp .
    2) Pack trades him to Jets for conditional pick that ends up being a 2nd rounder
    3) Packers then trade that pick to Pats
( Along with two 3rd rounders for Pats 1st rounder and 5th rounder )
    4) Pats select D. Butler ( # 41 overall )

    5) Pats select B Tate with one of aquired Packs 3rd rounders

(Pats trade the other aquired 3rd rounder to Jags for their 2nd rounder in 2010 )

The Packer trade also helped make E Hobbs expendable ~
Which resulted in 2 aquired Eagle's picks being parlayed into :

    OT Ohrnberger ( # 123 ) & LS Jake Ingram ( # 198

So after the dust cleared ...

    Pats ended up with :
    BUTLER / TATE / OHRNBERGER / INGRAM / JAG's 2010 2nd rounder

Packers got Clay Mathews ( solid so far ) and Jamon Merideth ( cut )
    Eagles got Hobbs ( And his over-inflated ego & contract demand$ )

Tate has huge upside and Butler will be better his 2nd year (and he's already pretty good). 2nd rounder in 2010 could be eventual stater in 2012.

2nd rounder in 2010 could also = STARTER in 2010
( or be parlayed with Pats 2010 #32 overall pick to move up ? )

if you figured this out, i give you mad props for that.

and i think the pats made out well in the deal.  ending up getting more for less.  just hope it's quality in the long run.
