Can't say I'm too excited about this guy. His production is nonexistent. He's big, but really what's the difference between alot of these big recievers and splitting a TE wide. Gronk is both bigger and faster than this guy. Hernandez is faster too.
Lots of these big recievers are just TE's who are never asked to block. Most teams have one TE, and 3 receivers, and one of those receivers is a 6'2-6'4 guy, another a 6'0 speed guy, and the last a slot guy.
The Pats run basically the same personnel (Gronk/Hern, Ocho/Branch, Welker) with the same skill/size and speed just one guy has TE next to his name. For all intents and purposes Hern is a WR because he never blocks. -

Maybe practice squad fodder. He could help by playing the role of the big receiver on other teams. Even if the ball clanks off his hands constantly it gives the defense the feel of what it's like to defend against someone with that range. -

You are hoping that the 6'5" WR's are 20-40lbs lighter then most TE's so they are faster and might be able to cut quicker with sharper routes then larger bodied TE's. Now this kid I have no clue what his 40, 10yrd split, shuttle, or 3 cone is so who knows how his CoD, fluidity, and speed are but this kid might surprise or at worst, imo, could make for a good PS material to get the D prepared for some of the bigger WR's and quicker TE's around the league -

40 yd is 4.7 so he is big and relatively slow and not a great leaper either. His most interesting stat is the 7 blocked kicks but ... not sure that does anything for us.
