Seems like BB really want to make some changes at the position. He's not only smart enough as a coach to know you need a great running game to win a Super Bowl but simply handing it to shlub’s 30 times a game won't win you a thing.

    LOL..what unwritten rules?

Gaffney has way to high an upside for Carolina to make this mistake...he'd have been more like a late 3 or 4th rounder in any other draft year...way to go BB you thief you!

This will be a great pickup if he can come back, very nimble big man RB, much upside.

Good move and it makes up for the Refs messing up the non PI call last year. No challenges, no replay, Carolina you made a mistake and BB was just waiting in the weeds.

No, our GM didn't lose 2 of anything last year, other than the Pats being absolutely jobbed in 2 games on the road on the last play of the game.

Just think, Roger Goodell is trying like hell to take down BB in order to promote parity and put a team in England.

    Interesting, huh?

It is to people who aren't morons like you.

Now if Brady can only be good in an AFC Title game and SB and he might help stick it to Goodell for once.

    Re: Free 6th Round Pick

BB could use a fairly big back, but usually BB can't use a rook. James White and possibly Finch are willing to be exceptions to this rule.

Assuming that Gaffney heals (a big if), BB gets Gaffney next year in camp, a 220 pound extra draft choice with an extra 12 months of learning behind him.  Gaffney will cost the Patriots the league minimum wage in 2014, a pretty small ante for this gamble.  No, Gaffney won't count against the Patriots' 53 man limit in 2014.  He's just a cheap trip to the well.  Sometimes it works and the team benefits, sometimes not and this poker hand gets folded.

More dirt:  he really could benefit from a year on the sidelines, as he's been training to play baseball.  Top 3-cone numbers so he has nice lateral acceleration.  That means maybe he can get open, and also he can make 1 cut and hit the hole.  Good receiving hands too.  In Massachusetts you want to get open in the flats and catch that six yard pass from Tommy, then you want to run over some cornerback with authority.

It's not Gaffney's ACL.  Gaffney has something called a torn knee meniscus.  This not being an ACL, it would be something to discover that Gaffney runs at full speed 12 months from now.

Freak!  Beebee lost plenty of players to waivers he would have liked to stash on either IR or PS.

Its not a new revelation and all teams claim guys off waivers.

Beebee loves those injured guys.  Super!

Here's hoping one of them works out.

So far, it's been nothing but dead money and cost against the cap.

BB is incredible! I wonder if this will work out like that brilliant Jake Ballard pick up when the Giants were happy to have the patsies pay his salary for a couple of years. Jake had more catches against the patsies in the superbowl than he did all his time filling in the the murderer. Thanks BB.  A 6th round pick RB out for the year.  Nice pick up.

Garret Mills to Minnesota,....luckily for us, he was just another bust.

The only downside to this is payback. You aggravate an owner and when you try to put Gallons or anyone on the p/s that you like this year, someone will take him just to say "touche"

Hopefully he works out next year cuz its probably gonna cost us one of our prospects this year.
