Some mistakes here and there but overall I'd say a solid half. Mallett looked fairly good overall imo. He had two mental farts but I'd be comfortable with him as the backup

I swear by lil 10 pound bearded baby Jesus

i think he'd be okay too.  One thing I'd like to see is for him to work on a touch pass. It's clear he can throw hard and on a bee line

Mallet to play the whole game?  3rd qtr and Tebow play 4th qtr?  Or Tebow all 2nd half?

I would like to see more Mallet in the 3rd qtr and have Tebow play the 4th qtr.

Bolden is one of our best ST teams players and has done nothing but produce in limited opportunity as a RB. 5 ypc and hits the hole with burst for 220 pounds. I like him and Blount to make the squad and Devlin to PS

He produced before his PED suspension after not nearly as well. For STs I would say Slater, Cole, and Wilson/Ebner are better on STs than he is and so is Edelman actually so I don't see STs as his saving grace. But I can see where you are coming from good points and I agree if they can get Devlin on PS I would put him there

Mike Reiss and I disagree with you, but maybe your right and Ebner is better.

    • Mike Reiss

Ben, he's a lock. What some may not realize is that Bolden is one of the Patriots' best special teams players.

      Ben from VT

I see lots of chatter that Brandon Bolden might be on the bubble. Hasn't he shown enough potential in the last year to be a lock?

give him some time. He's a rookie.  Plus, muscle mass might make him worse - depends.

That doesn't change that he just stands there when he can't see an open receiver.  Its like he can only run or move if the play calls for it.  Its not like he has bad knees is it?

One good pass but the flat pass to Fells was a bit of a duck. An easy lob he almost over threw. It's like he was trying to put too much touch on it

Still - they want Tebow to run more of a Brady type of O. That means stepping up and into the pocket (something he's clearly not comfortable with). It's clear he's trying not to scramble on purpose at this point. I think BB taught him his backwards scrambles tend to lead to larger loses. If he can't step up or sideways to scramble never run backwards

true.  It's going to be very difficult for Tebow to change w/o extensive coaching and time. So, is he gonna make the team anyway? If he stays as a project, is it to put Mallett on the market?
