Gasper: , blame Brady all you want. But the formula for winning championships now is not the one the Patriots used earlier in the millennium.

Nothing personal, but I want to see this team win a SB again, not waste chance after chance after chance due to Brady wanting to easily throw to a jackrabbit slot WR for 4 yards and hope that 1st read somehow works all game long to a SB win.

If your greatest GM in the history of the world could cobble together a running game that met the league average or a defense that could do the same then we might just win a SB meathead.

the defense ranked in the top 10 in ppg allowed and the running game scored the most td's out of any team in the league, thats better than average.

when a team that relies on winning the turnover battle to win games during the regular season, goes -3 in the turnover category, they are most likely going to lose. the defense certainly could have forced a turnover or two, but for the most part they were giving the offense the ball back in decent to very good field position. there was one drive where the pats started on their own 45, only went 7 yards, and then punted.....talk about pathetic.

Just spare the world the mindnumbing homer spin.

What the hell does scoring the most running TDs have to do with anything when you can't even meet the league average per carry? And they were 1.2 ppg away from being 16th on D with scoring, while also being 29th in passing yards.

You want pathetic? Flacco, 106 PR in AFCCG. There's your pathetic.

Time for a few of you jabronis to face reality. Learn the game Rusty Clone.

flacco is not nearly as bad as you say he is, he made it to the super bowl going through denver and the pats....you have to give him some credit. as far as the defense goes, you always try to twist the stats into something they just arent. the pats were a top 10 defense this year in ppg allowed, its as simple as that. not scoring in the second half when you have the best offense in the league statistically, is just unacceptable. when brady plays in the playoffs, like he does in the regular season, then they will win another super bowl. until then, brady will continue to struggle in the big games and you will continue to blame the defense.

LMAO. I didn't say Flacco was pathetic. I showed how our D was pathetic against him.

You need cold hard facts? Flacco was an 87 passer on the season, a 106 against our D.

I TWIST STATS? Another LMAO. The D was 1.2 ppg away from 16th place in scoring. And was 25th in yards allowed and 29th in passing yards allowed, 26th in first downs allowed and 24th in yards per play. What's more they allowed about 27 points per game on the season against eventual playoff teams. That rates 26th on the season in points for a D. So they got their barely 9th place feasting on the stiffs they played.

I realize a few homers here cherry pick the scoring stat. But show me anybody with any credentials that is saying this D is near 9th best in the league and maybe I won't laugh at you Rusty Clone.

Just stop Rusty Clone. If you are too dense to grasp that Brady is not going to be able to lift a team that can't run, can't catch, can't get open, can't block and can't play D then you really should go find a good soccer forum to spew in.

    You really have little understanding.

    Teams have offenses and defenses

Offenses play defenses and defenses play offenses,

A 106 PR for the QB is the equivalent of a 106 Defensive Pass Rating for the Pats D.

A 106 DPR is extremly poor. ( 8No team has ever won a SB with a  DPR rating higher than 87).  That's thirty freaken points higher!!!!   It essesentially means you are letting the opposing offense sh@t all over you.  A QB does not get a high rating UNLESS they are completing passes, (ie the recievers have to catch them) and scoring points.  The Ravens scored points on 100% of their RZ trips, it is up to the D to stop them.

A stop or two there would have decreased their DPR significantly and decreased Flacco's PR, the same amount.

On the other hand the Ravens DPR was a 67.  THIS IS CONSIDERED ELITE!!!

They stopped TD's on 3 of 4 scoring drives although one was poor time mgt by the O.

The others were a goal line stand, a pic and a fumble rec.

The Pats D did NONE of that.  Do you understand this??????  It's not hard.

Both teams had 4 RZ trips, one D failed and the other did not.

You can say that one O failed and the other did not but it is ultimately up to the D to make those stops.  Again, one did and the other didn't.

They forced a 3, forced a fumble and forced a pick.

It's not very hard to see the discrepancy in the DPR's, is it?

It should also be no surprise that one Offense failed and the other did not.

Btw, The only failure of TB's was the pick which was just a good defensive play.

The failure of the RB's to gain 1 freaken yard and the fumble were 2 failures.

The time mgt one was just a offensive and coaching cluster.

Punting from the 38 twice was mind blowing but again, it was just BB respecting Balt's D., who obviously deserved that respect.

But show me anybody with any credentials that is saying this D is near 9th best in the league and maybe I won't laugh at you Rusty Clone.

hmmm, similar to how the offense feasted on bad teams? it goes both ways buddy, they play the schedule that is in front of them. what you also dont realize is that the ravens had a ton of injuries during the regular season on defense and offense, once flacco got all his weapons back at once, he performed very well. i dont see why you cant have a friendly disagreement on this without telling someone they are a "rusty clone" or telling them to "learn the game". i know the game, and have played it alot more recent then you have. as far as the rusty insult, thats just stupid and i dont take it personally....rusty is also more intelligent than you will ever be. just because you say people need to learn the game, that doesnt mean that YOU know the game. rusty has embarassed you so many times, that you make threads about him begging for people to be on your side against evil rusty. its pathetic. you also may think many people agree with you on here, which is also wrong. there is a few [pezz4pats, tripleOG, etc..] but besides that crowd, people laugh at you. your punch lines are terrible and your obsession with brady is childlike....maybe you should "learn the game". not scoring after halftime during a playoff game is nobody else's fault but the offense.

But you don't know the game. Otherwise you wouldn't be foolishly claiming a bad defense was good and the GOAT QB was a problem.

Same kind of idiotic nonsense that Rusty spews about "I've played the game".

So you passed the "I'm not that tool Rusty" test. Probably used a proxy.

You are a Rusty Clone. Same incoherent goofball spin as him.

There are WAY more than a few who contend Brady carries this team. While there are just a few who bash him like you and Rusty.

im not bashing brady, im a huge fan of brady and he has meandt alot to team....there is no doubt about that. im simply saying that he has underperformed in the playoffs the past 5 years....but, it happens....many of the greats have struggled in the playoffs, even montana lost 3 title games....but like i said, scoring 13 points the whole game, in a home afc championship game with the super bowl on the line, is just flat out awful. to blame the defense for that game is just ignorant as i said...basically your argument here is that you are fine with out offense playing like the new york jets whenever they get to the playoffs, but unless the defense plays like the 85 bears, its the defenses fault? on what planet does that make any kind of sense?

In the Ravens game, the Pats on both sides of the ball were outmatched.  There's no way around it.  Offense couldn't do much and the defense couldn't stop much.  The better team won.  The Pats were not the better team that day.

wozzy, when you hit "add your post" and nothing happens just refresh the page. It's there.

Yeah, the better team won that day. I haven't seen anybody saying any different.

    I didn't blame the defense.

I said when you can't run, catch, block, get open or play defense Brady isn't going to be able to carry you on his back. That's not blaming the defense. It's blaming the MEDIOCRE team BB has bungled his way to putting around Brady.

ok and?? i told you i agree with rusty in alot of what he says.... i didnt want to agree with him and i was holding out hope that brady and the offense would turn it around this year....after the texans game, i was thinking this was the year the offense turns it around in the playoffs and plays to the level they are capable of. but, then they did the same thing they did last year. once they ran into an actual defense, they folded like a cheap tent. 13 points the whole game from an offense tat averaged 34 on the season? that is just over 1/3 of the scoring they averaged per game during the regular season and even in the texans game! so yes, i agree with rusty because it has become painfully obvious that he has been right. while the rest of you [pezz. OG] continue to live in another planet and think that brady can do no wrong.
