THh only bad news is Phil Dawson was who I wanted, but SF got him already.
There must be some dead money there right?... I don't see it being a 7mil net postive. I do agree it needed to be done and if its frees some cap glad for it. -

I believe it is 1.6 mil in dead money and 1.8 mil in cap savings for this year

i think his cap hit was 3.4m for 2013 with 1.6 in dead money. Don't know if that dead money takes into account full signing bonus accelerated or not..but it looks like the cap savings to be right around 1.8 or so...anyone confirm?

I can confirm this is far too much conversation about a Kicker's cap hit.
Was definitely time to move on. He lost some nerve at times this year...though to be fair, the team's use...or reluctance to use him from Day 1 in key spots can't have helped the ol' confidence.

Well, it's an overpaid kicker, it's not 5 starters off Baltimore's D, cupcake.LOL
This was a no brainer. Maybe he can come back for the league minimum. lol
