In Response to Re: Grading the 2010 NFL Draft : Problem with that theory is Parcells won't be there that long.  He's the Larry Brown of the NFL.  Here today, gone in a couple of years.  Look at his track record.

That's true....the Tuna will get wanderlust sooner rather than later....but he'll leave his "people" behind who know "his" basics on how to structure a team.

Miami's problem is that Parcell's best disciple is in New England, ever extending his own "coachng tree" so to speak....and I don't believe that the guys left behind to run the team after the Tuna leaves will be able to match BB. Still, IMHO, they are a potentiallly bigger threat than the Jets on a continuing basis...whereas the Jets is the threat this year....

In Response to Re: Grading the 2010 NFL Draft : Never mind Wilson.  I have seen Donovan Warren listed as the second best Dback in the draft on more than one list..  The story is he had a bumb ankle at the combine and ran a slow 40. He was undrafted and is now a Jet.
    Posted by bjesuss

Any draft publication listing Donovan Warren as the 2nd best DB or CB or even S (the position some sites had him listed under at draft time) likely won't be in business much longer as he was rated at best a 5-6 rounder.  Simply put, the reason Warren went undrafted is he lacks, both speed and quickness, whether running in a straight line (4.62 40) or in and out of his breaks (7.21 3 Cone).  To put that 3 cone in perspective, Ndamukong Suh had the same time at 307 pounds and it was one of the worst overall times recorded by a CB (or DB for that matter) during the combine and pro-day process.  This would indicate the clear lack of any short area quickness or COD ability which really isn't good for a CB or DB that is expected to cover NFL caliber receivers.

Both times were from his pro-day on 3/12.

....in other words, BB brought in Spikes to be one of, if not, THE playmaker, in the LB corps...it doesn't matter how you do your job in terms of style as long as you do your job...and Spikes definitely did the job at UF...from what i've read so far, he seems capable of recreating that same type of effective play in the NFL...

Have the Patriots quietly upgraded their right DE (Seymour) position? Jarvis Green couldn't do  the job. Perhaps these new additions can: http://www.examiner.com/x-1324-New-England-Patriots-Examiner~y2010m5d7-Replacing-Jarvis-Green-with-Gerard-Warren-and-Damione-Lewis-a-bigtime-upgrade-for-the-Patriots

In Response to Re: Grading the 2010 NFL Draft:
Yeah, that whole .01 difference between average ages is a real killer.  Pats got younger at T, Guard, C, WR and TE in recent drafts.  QB, too, if you want to count Hoyer and the new guy. What's on paper means absolutely nothing. Philly trades McNabb, so now since their average drops, this means it's a definite good thing?  Maybe NE should trade Brady so the Pats can get "younger". It's a fine data set to consider, but it's not like they are all old in one position either. They have young players in every position behind the veterans in those respective positions.

Yes...the "source" must be considered...the NY Times. But, there's some truth to this. The Pats' starting WRs, Randy Moss and Torrey Holt, are 33 and 34 years old, respectively. Tom Brady is 33, and the average age of their RBs, excuding Maroney, is 34 years old.

In Response to Grats on the win:
It pains me to say it but good win for you guys.  This loss hurts badly.  I wouldn't have minded losing so much had we not been completely outplayed in the last 4 minutes.  Had we missed a game winning shot or allen hit a game winning shot I'd feel totally differently. Wasted effort by Gasol and Bynum.  They both played their hearts out and I feel badly for them.  Our perimeter players did not step up tonight and yours did.  Kobe, Artest and Fisher didn't have it.  Allen and Rondo played unbelievable.  You guys got a solid win despite your front line being outplayed and not getting much from Pierce. On to game 3.  Time for us to make the adjustments.
