great first day of free agency

locked up wilfork long term and avoided any problems with camp holdouts over franchise tag.

resigned the best run blocking guard in the league in stephan neal.

locked up banta cain, keeping I pass rush specialist who had success last year.

didn't overspend on marginal free agent talent like the bears or lions or redskins of old.  congrats to those teams winning the free agency superbowl, that always works out well in the regular season. not

finally, to those fans who are pissed we didn't sign a big name player.   get over it.  This team was old and has been getting younger for two years and it will take  one more year then the dynasty begins again assuming we have a great draft this year and brace, butler and chung make strides in year 2 and 3.  Brady has at least 5 years left.

the patriots are keeping to the plan, build a super bowl champion while keeping competitive teams on the field year in and out.  I dig it.  Don't mortgage the future.  With BB and brady you got a chance.  Can't wait for draft day.  It has to be a great one or the patriots will be in trouble.  make or break draft.

finally don't be surprised to see the pats sign at least one restricted free agent.

But, but, but I read a few hours ago the Status was....Not Good.  Guess that was just premature e-speculation.

Tell Samuel to shut up. VW is higest paid at his position. Pats have done a very good job resisting names and signing their players: VW, TBC, VW.  Faulk shoud be signed soon.  No doubt a, pass rusher, a solid down-field WR and a CB (possibly Bodden) will follow.

They will prolly trade a #2 to fill at least one need.

I think the reason that Wilfork was paid is because he is a class act. He didn't act like a little punk a** baby like Ashante did. The Pats have a good amount of picks in the first two rounds. With the talent in this draft, this could be the year that Bill actually moves up in the draft to pick instead of down it. Some good players could slide. Miami got an awesome linebacker in Dansby, but could pass on a guy like McClain now. I like seeing the teams in the top 15 make moves in FA. It allows for a lot of possibilities to open up for the Pats. Should a guy they like slide to the teens, I could see them moving up to get him.
