    Gronk is our Corey Dillon

Gronk is tearing through defenses and scoring almost at will. If you remember the way Dillon (clock killin Corey Dillon) used to just lean on D's and run out the clock. Leaving Defenses beaten and demoralized.

Gronk is hard to categorize. I think the new wrinkle used last week against the Broncos- Hernandez as RB was more like Dillon.  Gronk is a beast and hard to stop, and can see how you would compare that to Dillon.  It will be very interesting to see how the Ravens try to shut him down.  We know TB has many options. The biggest test against the Ravens defense will be faced by the OL.
    Go Pats!

The raven's would have to commit 2 people to Gronk. A big LB to bang him at the line and a smaller speedier LB to try and run with him. This would leave gaping holes for BJGE to run wild through. Actually i think we will see a good amount of Woodhead. He is small and very elusive. This might be a good match against their beast..

ever notice how small the football looks in gronks hands? it's like he's holding a nerf football which is much smaller. I can't fkn wait for sunday when we "unleash the gronk" lol

Maybe Pats can try Gronk at H-back instead of Hernandez.  Nate Solder and Hernandez at TE.   Run wide, crush CBs awhile, then pass on them.

Re: Gronk is our Corey Dillon

There aren't any other Gronks and there never were, with the slight exception of his brothers.  Hernandez is in a great competition for the second-best tight end.

He's an extra tackle.  Cover him with a defensive end?  Not covered.  Cover him with anything else at the line and he'll push them 5 yards back for the running back's enjoyment.  In this way Gronk eats up 2 1/2 guys, 2 for the double coverage and 1 at the line.

Next, there are problems for the defensive players when they get hit.  190 pound cornerbacks aren't built to take essentially an offensive tackle head on, not 10 times a game.

The Patriots may or may not be a "finesse" team, but in certain key places they're just plain bigger and stronger than Baltimore.  Denver last week, for example, was carting the bodies off left and right.  Gronk is a prime example of why football should be played in weight classes like wrestling.  The same could also be said of tight end Nate Solder who roams downfield on pass plays like a 300+ pound enforcer, teeing defensive backs up just before the pass is thrown.  Hernandez is a normal sized tight end but he's being used as a big chain-moving wideout and another downfield blocker on bubble screens.  The final payoff is yards after catch (YAC), where having a tank carrying that football full steam tends to get the first down and more.

Brings that physicality Dillon had to this offense.  Loved how Dillon's stiff arm was really just a punch.  He kept throwing punches at people as he ran.  Gotta teach Gronk that move.

yeah, its a unique power passing attack. Gronk is  load to tackle, and Hern is just a nasty Wr/Te combo. The Pats have already lined Gronk up behind the LOS a handful of tines, the most notable on the TD pitch  few weeks back.
