"Half the league takes adderall" Richard Sherman

Pete Carrol must love the distraction this guy brings to the team. What an idiot.

It is pretty easy to tell a physician you suffer from the symptoms of ADHD... read a book like 'Driven To Distraction' and see the list of like 50 symptoms and 99% of people can come up with 3-4 that they 'suffer' from and get a perscription if they try hard enough... and with the $ that floats around among NFL  teams and the shady Doc's of the world I'd say a MASSIVE chunk of players are on it.

+1 since the league can't say what drug they tested positive for the agent or player can say anything they like. Adderall is the catch all players use because it's the most excepted drug on the banned substance list that most fans believe would be taken by players but very few who said that's what they failed for actually cited a doctor who diagnosed them with ADHD

Probably few of them are on Adderall. But when suspended for use of banned substance, they point to Adderall, because it is a "lesser" substance, and they think association with it is more acceptable.

Yup....really stupid clause in the contract. That's why the players union is fighting tooth and nail to prevent the league from reporting the specific testing violation and stop this stupid game of Adderall.

The League is PREVENTED from reporting the violation as a steroid. They are only allowed to report the lesser violation which is Adderall. It's become an Adderall joke.

Take it to the bank....a large % of the Adderall reported violations are for more serious PED violations.

That's false. It's on the PED list.

And it's not a masking agent. They put it on the list because they don't know what to do with it and don't want lawsuits. That's why it's on the list.  However, it has never been considered a PED.

Anything they are unsure of, they put it as a PED.  No idea why HGH isn't on the list and Adderrall is such a focus.  It's actuallu fascinating, because HGH is far closer to a PED than Aderrall.

HGH should be taken more seriously than Adderall. Also, other uppers that have similar elments aren't on the "PED" list in the NFL. Cocaine, crack, meth, etc aren't processed under a brand name, so the NFL calls those differently, which is why they suspend players differently.

An upper is an upper. Greenies in the 1970s weren't steroids and aren't official PEDs.  If someone takes Adderall, Crack, Cocaine, Speed/Crank/Meth, it doesn't give them an advantage over 4 qtrs of a football game.

The worst argument ever. Follow the money.  The only brand name is Adderrall.

Rusty is correct in his assessment of Adderall.

I will also include it is a controlled substance, and any legitimate insurance company will only allow a script to be filled once every 30 days.

I will also add that any legitimate doctor prescribing Adderall will insist on an every other month physical to check heart rate/blood pressure.

When prescribing for adolescents as well as adults, a legitimate doctor will also insist on random drug testing as pot or coke mixed with Adderall will rapidly raise ones blood pressure.

That is not to say an NFL player cannot get a script or the actual pills from a non legitimate source, but there are some negative physical side effects if used incorrectly. Often times when on Adderall a sleeping pill will be needed to come down at the end of the night. Depression is also common, so Zoloft is also a popular tandem drug with Adderall.

Would you be agreeing with the Tin Foil Hat when he said they were not a PED?

Or....perhaps agreeing with the Tin Foil Hat when he said a few posts later they were a PED?

Inquiring minds would like to know....

But then again...The Tin Foil Hat Fool is actually the only one here that's made any statements as to the PED nature of Adderall....

However this condition of argueing with one's self is quite common in Manic Depressive/BiPolar disorders and can be helped greatly with medications,,,,although Adderall would not be one of them.

    Re:

The premise was simply that the League allows these Players to report their suspensions regardless of the violation, as Adderall related.

    Nothing more….nothing less…

    They can’t report a steroid by contract….

Then, apparently, the Tin Foil Hat Fool, was into the sauce a little early last evening and begins to argue with himself that the League does a pretty good job testing for steroids….

Well, thanks for that Captain Obvious…are we know that…

What part of the League can’t report a positive test for Steroids are you not getting?

Then the Tin Foil Hat Fool begins debating with himself that it is a PED….it’s not a PED….it’s a dessert topping…no it’s a floor wax….thought I was watching a bad Saturday Night Live Commercial….

Today’s youth test incredibly poorly on MCAS and SATs regarding reading comprehension…

Who knows why…but the Tin Foil Hat Fool has laid out a perfect metaphor as to the issue…

    It’s real….and it’s scary….

According to the NFL. I disagree with the designation, moron.

You're calling me a tin hat fool and I know why they put it on the list, while you don't.

    It's an amphetamine.

    Answer this question, moron:

Why are cocaine, crack, meth and other street drugs categorized differntly by the NFL? It's called "substance abuse policy" for thos drugs. I know why they put those under that and "Adderrall" under the other. You don't. This is where we differ.

Why are those considered to be in that category while Adderrall (or Ritalin) in a different category "PED").

Trust me, when I tell you I am well beyond you on this topic. I work in the industry, work with, supported people at Teva Pharmaceuticals.   It doesn't make me an expert, but I am well aware of what these companies go through to get drugs approved with the FDA.

This is the NFL doing its due dillegence and protecting against future lawsuits. If Teva starts seeing it's drug on the street (like it is now), under the NFL logo, all over the NFL, through the NCAA, through high schools or worse, it's lawsuit city and negligence for the NFL, which would cost them MILLIONS.

Asa Jackson, Richard Sherman, Spikes, Bolden and whoever else, ain't getting these the normal, legal way. They're gettting this off the street. That's not what Teva wants to see.

    You're welcome, bozo.

Whether or not it's a definitive PED is clearly up for debate.  You've never even taken it before yet think you're a specialist on the topic?  lol I don't care what kind of inconsistentcies Rogie Goodell has coming out of his office in NY.

It's got nothing to do with tin foil hats, dummy. It's callled the world we live in which is clearly about the root of where the money is.

You get an NFL player popping Adderall and he dies on the field and they trace and find Adderall, guess who loses?

It's nothing more than the NFL covering it's butt, but they have it under the wrong category.

Instead of mocking people, why not learn something?

In the beginning I thought you were just arrogant….

Then I thought you were just stupid…..

After watching you juke and jive and try to spin your way out of your contradicting and convoluted posts I have learned that you are simply stupid….

I thank you for educating me on that……..
