i haven't been here as long as you, Obviously bad blood for a long time
And it probably is unsolvable
I just wish you all would take your guns off for a little bit
Sometimes it's really funny.
I always like the different points of view
And it's too bad you all hate each other
For us non combatants, I am writing here about different threads and the complaints about BB and TB
I think most people here think it starts with RK , the very best owner in sports
I think most people think BB is pretty damn good with few if any peers, He understands how to manage the Rubik's cube of the NFL, He has been from the Giants until now the greatest D coach , rex is kidding himself,
A great Offensive coach too, it is his system that has allowed the Pats to put up record numbers. He evolves over time, And is not afraid to connect with other coaches to implement new ideas. He does get the cap.
Most teams do not stay at the top for over a dozen years. He is aggressive and fearless in games. He has consistently obtained talent
I think most people are elated with TB. there are only 3 Qbs in the discussion for best all time. TB, PM, Montana. And to me it's only 2 TB, Montana . and TB is our guy
All that is the easy stuff to say. the tough stuff is over the last few years.
Without him The NFL may have had a car wreck during the labor contract and the Only thing I see you can fault him for is AHs contract without a morals clause And that is it
Spygate. He was the captain. It happened, just listen to RK. We lost a no 1 pick. I am sick of listening to the patriot haters about this And to what advantage?
And on obtaining talent he takes chances on FAs . And may effect the salary cap. Sometimes it is frustrating as he takes players he could have gotten later In the draft, but these 2 things are really minor in the scope of the entirety.
tB has put up remarkable numbers in the reg season. but has stumbled at times in the SBs and PLayoffs. But to blame him and him alone is not fair at all.
As BB says after a loss. players have to play better and coaches have to coach better.
1 it's hard to say that TB runs the Offense by himself, and runs the Offense his way to the detriment of the team. That is saying the greatest coach of all time has no say in game planning or game personnel. Cannot be both.
And BB also says he wouldn't want any other QB.
2. TB hasn't had good games. sometimes it is his fault. the int at the end of the Denver game or the INt in the Jessts game. but to expect him to have regular seaon stats in PO games is not realistic.
SB 42 was a war, the Oline was flat, theGiants had a great D game plan . eli wasn't the MVP the Dline was. Great players are measured in the clutch. TB despite getting the sxxx kicked out of him drove the team for a go ahead TD, it wasn't TB who dropped the Int and he wasn't on the field for the helmet catch.
SB 46 was more of the same. oline and receivers not getting open led to more ineffective eas . tB did have a No moments. But gronk, his best weapon was a shell of himself. You cannot take away a gunslingers top gun and expect the best. and again he led a late Go ahead drive. TB wasnt on the field when Eli made a great throw. He wasnt on the field when the Db lined up wrong for that plaY or the ensuing TD
AFC PO losses , 1st remember there were wins. And it's not fair to dismiss them cause the teams they beat sucked, There was a game TB himself said he sucked. There games he made mistakes that weren't overcome. yes the O didn't score a lot of points. At the same time if the O doesn't get the ball as much cause the D doesn't get off the field, well a team wins together and a team loses together
3. comparisons to Montana. TB and Joe are my all time favorite players. But Joes stats weren't always great. he also got the sxxx kicked out of him, He also lost games coz of other teammates, he also had the greatest coach of his time. Joe was 8-4 in NFC champ games. he had an early SB and didn't have more for awhile, but to say Joe lost cause his team was not as evolved and TBs losses were all TBs fault isn't fair
But if the Pats had won 42, or 46 TB would have been alone over his child hero. And he wasn't on the field for the losing late plays. We wouldn't be killing anyone
4. TB vs, Bird, Russell, Williams, Orr. can't believe the unfavorable comparisons. Bird was Bird, he had HoFs on his Team . And Bradyhow many? Russell there were only a hanful of teams for awhile and how many HOFers?. Orr? He stands by himself as an offensive defensive force, but didn't he score at maybe the cost of team D? and how many rings did the big bad bruins get? and Ted, didn't he hit 200 in his only WS?
And TB is castigated for being selfish for passing all the time? and he picks the players on the team? isn't BB in charge? true TB fell in love with a few recovers but how many guns did he have?
Btw I am not knocking any of these guys.Bird was my fave BB player and Orr , well Gretzky couldn't shine his skates. true
Btw I am not from Boston
Well I didn't mean to get into this, but once I started...
I am not trying to gore anyone's ox. but there is a context for everything. all these guys are my sports heroes. they are my escape from a nasty world. it's okay to disagree, I want to hear from everyone, except those who are rude and trying to start a fight. It's A Ok to be wrong or change your opinion.
For the rusty and the antrusty groups, I find you all to have very interesting things to say.
if you see the team live, I cannot. Please tell me what you see. Even if it isn't revolutionary, It's all good stuff. if you think someone messed up, say it and say why. expect to have disagreements.
there are times I agree with the anti rusty group, Times I agree with Rusty. and to be fair Neither side has been rude to me. Rusty does get it a lot,, he really has been affable enough to me
No matter what happens , I root for BB ! I root for TB, I root for the 53rdplayer. most of us others do too We understand that these guys aren't perfect and that we do not get to have rings every year. it's just a fun journey
