Hernandez arrested and then got released by the Patriots per reading Twitter account

Per reading the twitter account, one of the person stated that Hernandez is released by the Patriots.

Can anyone confirm this?  Guess the Patriots know what kind of charges are against Hernandez

Wow, overreaction? Even for the Pats, I'd say that's a littl bit of an overreaction. We havent heard the charges yet.

This whole situation is astounding. it would be a great study on self destruction and how powerful the disease truly is. To be so troubled you toss your life to the wind is sickly fascinating. My measly brain cannot wrap itself round the whys and how's of this. Money and power can be a tsunami of devastation.

I would say Kraft released him.

We better be able to revoke that contract.  There has to be wording in the contract that if he were to ever be in trouble with the law, the Pats can void the contract.  Let's hope.

Obviously the Pats know that he's in some way or another tied directly to the murder and will be facing prison time.  Glad to get the thug off of our team.

Well that didn't take long...Kraft didn't want the negative publicity looming over his franchise.

Wonder if he has more than obstruction of justice coming his way?

There is usually morality clauses built into the contracts. If he's found guilty of a felony the Pats can not only pention to get the cap space back but also recoup all the bonus money from Hern himself. This is going to get interesting

    Good points, Patseng.

I am literally dumbfounded how this situation even arose.  You just signed a $40M contract to play football for the NE Patriots, you just had a baby, you are about to get married, you have everything you could have ever imagined and yet you go and mess it up by rolling with a bunch of thugs.  Whether he was the trigger man or a direct accomplice, it's downright inconceivable.

I obviously feel bad for Lloyd and his family; it's an absolute tragedy.  But man, can you imagine how Aaron's little girl is going to grow up?  Just sad.  You'll be able to think long and hard about your actions while in prison, Mr. Hernandez.

Yes, Patriots will go after the money they already paid him but will face cap hits.  Very sad, not only on the level of being a Pats fan but a young man is dead, many families destroyed here.  Another young player destroyed by poor choices.  Pretty sad.

Very well said!  Pro athletes who are young and immature getting six and seven figure contracts from teams is like pouring gas on the fire.  Hernandez certainly isn't the first pro to run afoul of the law and most certainly won't be the last.  Its a real problem NFL, NBA, and MLB.
