How many more wins needed to wrap up division?

Going into week 9 the embarassed Jets at 4 wins, Bills and Fins with 3, its safe to say Pats only need 3 more wins as 9-7 will be enough to win AFC East. Thoughts?

probably so but we need more so hopefully the offense won't have to go on the road early in the playoffs

Home field... 9-7 means failure.  This team must be no worse than 12-4.

Sad part about 9-7 division champ is the wildcard team you host in playoff first round has a better record than you....

In 1985 we went on the road for 3 games in the playoffs and won them all. Since then, the Steelers (and also Ravens and Giants?) have duplicated that feat. The most important thing is how we are playing at the end of the year and carrying that energy into the playoffs.

We have many challenges this year on defense (and offense with Vollmer out) and it will take something incredibly special to bring us to the Superbowl and win that game. Can it be done? The journey is just as important as the destination.

I see the Pats should find a way to meet Indy and avoid any first round bouts with Den or Cincy. Indy is soft, Cincy's DL will make Brady weak kneed and Denver needs a whopping that has us hoisting the AFC trophy in their faces.

No doubt, but we're not exactly road warriors at the moment.

To win the AFC East?  Not sure if they will need any more wins. LOL

They will probably need 13-3 for the #1 seed.

This seems a bit high with some very tough games coming up. I would be happy at 10-6 or 11-5 with Talib healthy. Pats won a super bowl at 11-5 and plenty of other teams have won it with 10 or 11 wins.

I'll take 12-4 all day long.

If the Jets win out they are 12-4 so to be safe the Pats need to win 13 at this point. Now that number will lower but losing to the Jets really hurt a lot. Also looking at the Jets schedule left really next week against NO might be there only sure lose (as sure as any given Sunday at least). The rest are somewhat up in the air so there is no guarantee they won't go 10-6. I would say the Pats need 5-6 more wins this year to be sure they wrap up the division and don't rule out Mia as since they had their bye week they are in the same situation as NY but with Cin, NE, and SD left on the schedule they might have a tougher go at running the table

There is absolutely no way the Jets win 10 games imo.  Not with the turnover machine they have at QB.  They have a -68 point differential.  That does not spell winning team to me.

Doesn't to me either but stranger things have happened and looking at their schedule they are facing a lot of teams that shoot themselves in the foot: Clev, Buf, Mia, Oak, Balt. It might just come down to who messes up less against those teams so 10 wins isn't that far fetched for the Jets

We wrapped up the division about 13 years ago when the best owner in sports stole the best coach in sports from a division rival, and changed the destiny of both teams forever.

I think the Raiders will beat the Jets. I think the Pats will beat Cleveland and Carolina (who are very underrated) but I think the Pats will lose to Balt and in Miami. I have the Pats 11-5. If Talib is healthy I give the Pats the Miami game (assuming a bunch of other defensive players don't replace Talib on the injury list).
