Browns signed QB Brian Hoyer, formerly of the Cardinals, to a two-year contract.
Hoyer signed by Browns
posted at 5/17/2013 3:35 PM EDTThe 27-year-old career backup was cut by Arizona after nobody wanted to trade for Hoyer and his $2.023 million salary. Hoyer has one career start, a loss to the 49ers in Week 17 last season. He boasts a 59.4 career completion percentage on 96 attempts and a 2:3 TD-to-INT ratio. The Browns were the most connected team to Hoyer because new GM Mike Lombardi openly gushed about him on NFL Network, but he's not a realistic option to be anything more than the No. 3 quarterback behind Brandon Weeden and Jason Campbell.
