ESPN insider rumors are a complete joke.  Every time I go to the site and read a rumor headline like "Patriots interested in Marshall", it links to a story of some chump blogger speculating like any one of us that the "Patriots could look at someone like Brandon Marshall".

Then, the site headlines it like a rumor coming from a team source.  I'm tired of their garbage.

    Re: insider content? brandon marshall

There's been a lot of speculation over the past month as to where Brandon Marshall will wind up in 2010. Mike Klis of the Denver Post noted Friday that despite Marshall's being contrite about this past season, he's likely to be shopped anyway. On Sunday, the Post had word from Denver owner Pat Bowlen that he'd like it if Brandon stayed a Bronco but wouldn't block a trade if coach Josh McDaniels wanted it.

The Post's Dave Krieger has an interesting hypothetical. If Marshall's issues are entirely financial (he's been grossly underpaid as a pro thus far, based on production), and all the principals really can move on together, why don't the Broncos offer Marshall a one-year deal at his market value? In that way, they'll find out whether he can actually be a happy camper as long as he's well paid. Given Marshall's talent, it's worth the risk, especially in an uncapped season.

But how about the Patriots? Randy Moss isn't getting any younger, and who knows what kind of shape Wes Welker will be in after shredding his knee to close out 2009. Here's the Professor:

Rumor or not, I wouldn't mind seeing a WR of his talent coming here!  Not only young and a game changer, just imagine Brady throwing to him!  Once Moss retires or moves on, Marshall could step right in as your new #1 Wideout.  This guy is IMPACT and this is what the PATS need - More Impact Players!

With Moss on one side, Marshall on the other, then hopefully by November'ish Welker coming back - that's not to shabby at all!....

    we'll see....

having marshall on one side and moss on the other woukd prevent the jeys from double teaming moss and revis can only cover one of them.
