had no idea things were detiorating this badly with the town and the krafts. looking from the outside, seems like the town is tryin to pull a fst one. i hate the fact that cities can pull this eminent domain nonsense as a threat or retribution to get what they want from private enterprises. if they pats lose this billboard case and the town opens up billvoard advertising to public bids or take over the land, no way i see mr. kraft not responding with at least a trump card threat of his own. for it to get this far says a lot about how deep the resentment is building on both sides. mr. kraft is the largest taxpayer by far in foxboro, they are playing with danger. any doubt he could get a mutually receptive deal from another city in the region or eslewhere? how much would LA concede to get the pats or a version of it? -

The article you post places this as an issue with a resort casino, the billboards are a reason. Foxboro doesn't seem to want a resort casino built in it's confines, I do not blame them, ever been to Atlantic City? If you have did you venture a couple of blocks off the main drag? Wouldn't want that in my backyard regardless of any potential income -

Casinos don't bring about ghetto conditions. AC was that way before there were casinos, and it still is. It's not like that in any other place I've been to where there are casinos. Just off the top of my head that would include New Orleans, St. Louis, Council Bluffs, IA, Vegas of course and Biloxi. The areas around those casinos are fine. No blight to speak of.

I live right next to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun and they have done nothing to hurt the area. If anything, they have brought more jobs to the people that live here. There's nothing here but trees and hicks. -

I doubt he can move. He has huge investments in the Razor and other people have put huge money into it as well. His deals with Patriot Place must have strings attached that the team stays there. If the Pats moved PP would become a ghost town.
I don't think Bob is free to walk, not only from obligation to others but because of his own vested financial interests. -

Moving has to be voted upon by the owners. Bob Kraft doesn't have to threaten anyone. They know what he does for the area. Sounds like some Council persons being the tough guy. -

Mr Kraft isn't going to split from a highly profitable position just for a couple of billboards.
The Town of Foxboro gets lots of tax revenue from the stadium, but they also get lots of headaches every time Route 1 becomes a parking lot for 2 hours. I don't blame the town for wanting an extra million dollars. It's tough out there for towns these days.
Mr. Kraft could always buy all of the billboard space and then have the billboards taken down permanently. -

Did I miss something? I don't recall that article saying anything about the possibity of the Pats moving. Just billboards. I live literaly less than 5 miles from a casino villiage just west of St. Louis and they just keep pouring money into improvving the surrounding area, which is just fine, but more of that money needs to be going to education as was 'promised' when the casino bills were passed. If the casino issue is put to public ballot, and passed then Foxboro will have a casino cut and dry. Right? KMc. -

Posted by NESportnuti was wondering about that. i have yet to see casino towns really take advantage of that opportunity. -

Could you please return to the policy of screaming the entirety of all your thread titles. This new practice of only screaming certain words is forcing me to read the title to make sure I don't accidentally click on one of your idiotic spam posts.
The titles are a dead give away. But I feel like reading the titles is more work than I should have to put into avoiding your drivel.
Thank you for your cooperation. -

Kraft is not moving the Pats anywhere. He's got billions tide up here. It would be financial suicide to move somewhere else. You'll see, he and Wynn will eventually get their way and build that casino........... -

Yep, Kraft is going to pack up and leaving the hundreds of million dollars worth of facilities hes built because of some billboards.I'm sure he is totally cool with dropping another 600-900 million dollars on a new stadium in Great Barrington Ma -

I think we can all relax when it comes to the Pats staying in Foxboro.
Kraft isn't moving the team anywhere. You all remember the hoops he had to jump through here in Massachusetts just to get infastructure support on a stadium he was privately financing. Forget the Connecticut saga.
Incidently, where would they go? No space in Boston and the tean would have to finance the new stadium. Kraft is not going to cut off his nose to spite his face especially when he is still paying off the 10 year old stadium.
I do get a kick from some of the folks that describe Foxboro like it's Duxbury all of a sudden. -

Eh, The City of Foxboro is simply playing hardball with Kraft, because they recognize that With OR Without Kraft & The Patriots Franchise, they'd undoubtedly still continue to be the very same Bustling mega-Metropolis they've always been. Usually it goes: New York City, Foxboro, Los Angeles, Miami, and Chicago...minus, a flip here and there, we'd probably ALL agree on this Top 5 List of Major US Cities.
...Other than that, CC- We should ALL strive for greater balance through our sexual escapades=Front door, Back door, Missionary, tied to a spinning ceiling fan....
