Champs do not make the mistakes the Pats made. The grounding on the first play, the dropped passes, the great turnover negated by 12 men on the field. All these cost them a game they should have won.
An ice cold organization would probably trade Brady for multiple picks - I bet they could get 2 X 1st rounders and maybe more. You'd be giving up two seasons of Brady at a high level - but in the long term you'd be adding talent to keep the Pats competing and maybe Mallett can be a good enough QB to win with added talent. It should be considered.  But Kraft will be emotional with Brady I have a feeling. You have to be ice cold about it.  Ask Lawyer Malloy, Ty Law, and Steve Vrabel about the definition of "ice cold"

So, you are willing to accept a couple years or more of TRUE angst waiting for the new QB to develop to the point Brady is but a memory?  I'd rather have Brady's best than some new guy's "could be" best!
I think Brady has the skills.  He lacks the patience and poise in the game.  He needs a strong OC personality to rein him in. I think McD can do it.  ...., they will not win another SB with Brady at QB.

Could this be a product of the defense these last couple years?  When everything rests on Brady's shoulders, as it apparently is from the fans on this site, and he DOES see what happens on the field when he sits on the bench watching the D give up leads, can he afford to wait until the D gets it?  If he did take the attitude to wait for the D to play well and be patient, these fans will crucify him to DO MORE!!  They'll blame him even more!

It really depends on what you get back in the trade.

They won championships while Brady was playing like a "could be" guy.  But they had good RBs, Great LBs, etc.

Suppose the Pack should dump Rodgers and the Saints should, likewise dump Brees. In fact, other than the Giants, every NFL team should can their QBs since they couldn't get it done this year either. Sure, yesterday hurt, but it is ridiculous to think shipping out Brady is the answer. Does anyone really believe quarterbacks of his caliber are so easy to come by?

Given the "entitlement" mentality of this fan base, if success doesn't happen in the first year, this place will be cruel to the team.  There is NO patience here.  Look at how the posts begin in the first quarter of a game when the Pats start slow!  And you think folks will be patient for the new guys on the block?

    You aren't reading.

It has to be considered.  He is almost 35.  He is not going to play forever.

His value will go down dramatically each year from here on in - unless he defies aging - which has yet to be done by any football player.

If you could get a lot in return now are you better off?  You might be.  You give up two more great years from Brady in return for 2 - 3 young pieces.

Or you can be sentimental and say Brady is our starter until he turns 44.

Posted by Schumpeters-Ghost
Oh, I'm reading and realize Brady can't last forever, but In the haze of a Superbowl hangover is not the time to say ditch the QB. It seems ridiculously reactionary. After next year or two years from now this is a legit conversation, until then this is quarterback league and Brady is still one of the top five that cannot be easily replaced.

When the Pats start becoming uncompetitive with Brady at the helm, then we can talk.  I agree, this "reactionary" stuff happens with every loss!

To answer your last question, apparently yes.  Even though Brady is one of only six quarterbacks in the entire history of the NFL to throw 300 or more touchdown passes, a guy who has played a total of about fifteen minutes in the NFL and a guy who has never taken a single snap in an NFL game are both superior options.

NO. TB needs to execute better

Get a couple playmakers with speed so we can go deep at will. Keep retooling the defense.

Exactly, and maybe gameplan better both on offense and defense.
