Is there ANYONE on the Pats that can cover?

We all agree that our D-Backs can't cover (hopefully, with the possible exception of Dennard).

But it just hit me that we don't have any Linebackers that can cover.

Help me off the ledge......can you name ANY single defensive player that is good in pass coverage?

Hey Bunker, can you magically transport the 2004 team to the present?

That would be cool, cause then our defense wouldn't suck.

    It's a pass rush problem.

No blitz packages = weak, vanilla defense.

BB has been mailing in the vanilla D for years

You guys are morons. Two questionable PI calls and 2 lucky completions deep with offensive holding not being called means we have no one who can cover.

Look around the league. Take the 2004 SB DVD out of your DVD players, kids.

    Good grief.

Do you get angry when the coverage is good for 80% of the game? lmao
Funny how it's always luck, no call or bad calls when you talk about the D, but when it's Brady he sucked even when he puts up a 100+ game.

That pretty much tells it all about you.

Yeah, that's right, it's all the refs' fault.  Or if not, it's just bad luck.  Talk about a complete loser mentality.

the secondary wasnt good, obviously.....but you just cant leave as many points on the field as the patriots did on offense....cant tell you how disgusted i was at their 2nd to last possession when they sat on the ball.

But he does. It's that screw up QB that is holding us back in his view.

The secondary allows a 70 QB to put up a 133: no problem.

The running game gets 3.3 yac: no problem.

Brady throws a 79 game: there's your problem.

It's called insanity. Rust has it.... BAD.

They had him play LB last week. I dont know what the deal is with BB not playing Dowling at CB.

Those were the correct PI calls.  What 2 "lucky" completions?  Are you that blind that you refuse to even aknowledge that the secondary absolutely sucks?   It is always excuses with this secondary.   They make Joe Flacco look like  Peyton Manning or Drew Brees in every game. Next week Sanchez will throw for 300 yards against this garbage secondary.

Russell Wilson threw for 300 yeards and 3 td's. What more can be said? The fact that the Seahawks came out throwing the ball lets everyone know what Pete Carrol thought of this secondary.

The only QB that this secondary can successfully play against is Tim Tebow.

Where is Belichick and his brilliant defense? Where are the exotic blitz packages. The Pats play a vanilla defense the whole game and the QB  aren't scared to throw the ball. Watching the Packers tonight, it seems like even they have improved their secondary alot since last year.

It is really scary to think what would happen to the Pats if they actually were in a tougher division and played against the likes of  the  Packers, Falcons,  or the Saints.   While most of you were happy about not facing the tough schedule, I wished we had a schedule like last years Giants so we could learn more abou the team.  Could this defense hold up aganst an elite offense? Not a chance.   It is clear that this crappy secondary cannot even hold up against Joe Flacco or Russel Wilson,  let alone Brees or Rodgers.

One thing I will mention is I didn't like the 4-3 in this one. I would have gone all 3-4 to bottle up Wilson a bit more.  Wasn't a huge deal since Brady threw the game away again, but it would have helped.

Don't you  mean the D gave up a 2 score lead in the 4th again?

No, I meam that no NFL team can win when their QB tosses 2 INTs and takes two groundings in scoring position like that on the road with a team who treats the game like the game of their lives.

    LOL

Yes, let's praise inept play for 3 straight qtrs on offense.  You're on to something now, Pezzy!  An offensive league with 70% of the budget committed to the offense with you defending an inept offense over a game.

    yay!
Yes teams can win with 2 picks and still win.  23 points against a good D  is passable, 24 points against an enemic O with a rookie Qb is not. Giving up 2 scores with 9  minutes  left is horrendous.  It was bad enough giving up 2 score leads to flacco twice in one game but who the he!! did they play tonight?  Good god, your analysis is as horrendous as the Pats D.

The only thing this D can cover is their faces in shame and I'm not even sure they won't mess that up.  You should join them in that venture.

What 80% of the game was their coverage good on? Russell Wilson in his 6th career start should not be putting up a 133.7 quarterback rating. Seeing as he completed 60% of his passes, I would say that at best they had good coverage on 40% of the plays... Look around the league at what. Even compared to other teams their pass defense is bad. Literally amongst the worst in the NFL.

Patriots fans do not want the NFL to start enforcing offensive pass interference. They lead the league in borderline pick patterns and Gronk manhandles people to get open.
