In Response to Re: Is Tom Brady Seriously Hurt? : I think the problem with you is this - the offense would have to go into "the shot gun spread" every single play (and score from it on every drive) for you to say, "ok maybe it's not the offense that's the reason we lost in the playoffs" and even then you still might not do it. That's the problem with arguing with you; you only see things one way...your way. It doesn't matter that just about every offense is slowed/stalls at some point against a good defense in the playoffs, all that matters is you need to get behinf your agenda. That's it. Look at some of the better offenses throughout history...St Lois, Indy, Minnesota, New Orleans, Miami (of the 80's), some of those San Fran teams, Buffallo (80's). They all got beat by better defenses. Defense wins championships - this is not new!! There are exceptions and YES a balanced attack makes an offense much better, but historically it has been a defensive thing. A good defense can stop or slow down an offense, it happens and we don't have that. Look we all wish this defense didn't get injures to Wright, Pryor, Spikes, Chung, Carter. And it would of been nice if Haynesworth worked out or if McCourty didn't crap the bed, but it didn't happen. As for the offense, guess what? BB I'm sure would love to run it more often and be more balanced, it's just that they couldn't for most of the season. Do you even watch these games. You watch your buddy Benny try to get around a corner or cut back into an open lane? He can't do it. Out of the 50 top rated backs in the NFL 48 of them have a better ypc average and 27 of them have more rushing yards. Granted he may be hurt, but that just adds to the reason we don't run it more. Vareen was hurt all year and Faulk is a shell of himself (not that you'd just hand it off to him). Ridley was hurt as well and I'm sure they weren't going to just let him handle pass blocking assignments and get Tom killed half way through the season. We all get it...run=good. This is nothing ground breaking or earth shattering. Hopefully Ridley is ready to carry a bigger load and pass protect; lord knows this offense will have to carry this defense through this post season. I told you, if the defense comes out and keeps teams to three and outs for a stretch, or stops teams on third downs, I'll say I was wrong...no problem...be glad to. If the run defense can hold a team to 3.5 yards a carry or so and the pass defense can be tight in coverage...I'll be happy as hell. If we can make a QB feel uncomfortable in the pocket - so he doesn't just stand there picking us apart (like Sanchez last year or Flacco the year before)...I'll do handstands. And if Tom and the offense come out and throw some picks - get a bunch of three and outs - take sacks - settle for field goals...I'll admit that the offense was the problem all along...like you said. What are you going to admit?

My wife said that wasn't a nice thing to say, even though it's true.

Well Maureen I'm glad they allow them marriages there. But.. but what if they block all our fieldgoals?  were doomed! Did I mention that I'm married to a neurologist? Being Parkinsons is sort of a neurological disorder she might know the players in the funding and who gets it. Might even know who is so arrogant not listening to anyone else that her proposals are so far down the list for funding * lets pick a number like 50* that if they were on a football team they would be on the practice squad. ha ha Barnhinge. Your not fooling everyone.

In Response to Re: Is Tom Brady Seriously Hurt?:
Hurlie, It's amazing how dumb you are.  It's just impossible for me not to be incredulous with how stupid it is for you to point to high octane, finesse offenses and then also realize those teams never won a SB. Those offenses you just listed were pass first offenses. The Bills lost in SB 25 because NY had a better gameplan. A ball control gameplan.  Buffalo then went on to lose 3 straight SBs, due to the Belichick blueprint and a flawed Buffalo style of offense. Get it yet? Belichick's old D had no business beating the Bills. The Bills are us right now. You just proved how much you don't get it.  And it's admittedly fascinating BB runs an offense like this overall.  Yes.  I would place the blame on BB, or is BB caving to Brady? We'll never know. I'll be happy to admit I was wrong that the D was the root of the problem if they can't hold opposing offense's to around 20 points in the playoffs. I've said this all along. It's you who apparently feels it's outlandish for our offense to put up 21 points or more and not have halves like we just saw against Miami. The onlyt thing missing from last Saturday's awful offense was a Brady INT, which would have led to a loss.
    Posted by RidingWithTheKingII
Dear dumb dumb,
Actually four of those high flying offenses DID win a Super Bowl (New Orleans, St. Lois, San Fran, and Indy), in fact all 4 of those offenses were pass first offenses. In the end it doesn't really matter - you missed the point powder lunch:)

Let's try this again (god I hope you weren't dipping into the glitter too much at snack break)....a good offense will get stopped by a good defense in the playoffs - weather, cold footballs, home field advantage all should/can work against an offense. Defense wins Championships. Does a balanced attack=better than non balanced attack? Yes. Can you win despite that? Yes. What do you really need to win everything? A defense!!

So lets do this again...Tom Brady has put points up on the board very very well and consistently this season WITHOUT a balanced attack. Do you think he deserves credit for that? I mean it's not like he can double as a running back and it's not like Benny was able to do it. You think BB wanted to throw it all over the place and risk losing Tom? My god you're a complete moron - there can't be one thousandth of an inch of normalcy in your brain.

You know when you deleted your account it was quiet around here and I kind of missed your rants - what the hell was I thinking? And I'm sorry, but asking your defense to hold a team to "only" 20 points is basically the same as saying, "these guys aren't very good". Which is what we've been saying all along and if you're asking your offense to score MORE than twenty in a playoff game, what you're saying is, "this is a good offense". Which again is what we've been saying.
False. And if there is more proof that you are really the violator of this board, then it would be found beyond a thread like this. You're clearly here to troll. I have a hard time realizing why any fan who reads these threads attacks me and let's Babe Parilli/PatsFan1966 get away with this stuff. I guess some people just aren't very bright.
    Posted by RidingWithTheKingII
I think why people let people get away with attacking you is because they think you're a jerk quite frankly. Lets face it you're rude to everyone that doesn't agree with your agendas. You claim you're a fan and then you bash and criticize the best player in the history of this franchise (who is having an outstanding season once again). You have gone back and dug up threads that you've been right on and you've deleted your account when you end up looking too much like a moron. You make fun of people and get into battles with countless people. You talked smack last year to Jet's fans and then disappeared after we lost. If you think I'm rude and condescending...keep in mind I've only been that way to you and some dude that on the eve of 911 started bashing America (now that night I was pretty bad and got some comments removed by the moderators and really they cut me some slack because I could of easily been banned).

Let's face it, you're pretty much a tool bag:)

THis is the part that he fails to see (among others). Statistically we are not good running the ball THIS year with Benny in there. He actually thinks a coach like BB doesn't want to run it or that a coach like BB would let Brady dictate how this offense should be run. Laughable. It didn't help that Vareen was hurt all year and that Ridley had injuries of his own...Benny too for that matter.

Despite all this the offense scores points - a lot of them.

the report are it is not separated. however many have seen him and the behavior he is displaying with  his arm/shoulder. dude cant lift it. pretty severe pain. including altering his throwing motion. if you've had this injury with separation or not, very painful (thus altering), except maybe with drugs. which wil still set back healing for the real time (playoffs).
Guys, it's his left shoulder... He is a right handed QB. Presuming he hurt it before the post game conference, he still lit up Miami with the supposed injury. I'd also add it could be total B S, or he could have injured it 2 months ago, nobody knows. Remember when it came out after the 09 season that he had cracked ribs the entire season but nobody knew. All this from the fact that he seemed to be favoring it while changing his shirt. It could be...soreness nothing more nothing less. Regardless, he is till practicing and showed nothing to make me think he couldn't still throw as good as ever, and that was before a week of rest.
    Posted by shenanigan
media was open for only a few passes, unusual to allow them to watch at all. seems bb manipulating what is known or believed. it is believe this occurred in the last series.

it is not just how slow he got dressed. he was viewed doing several things, including unable to raise his arm (someone else had to grab his bag for him).

The NFL network reported that he saw a specialist on Wednesday and that it is a shoulder sprain. THey also mentioned that sprains and seperations can be similar. Lets just hope that he will feel better for the first playoff game.

Re: Is Tom Brady Seriously Hurt?

The article confirms he had difficulty putting on his shirt and it is sprained. The shot gun makes him much more susceptible to huge hits off of blitzes, which we've seen time and time again. The running game has been inconsistent. The play calling has been predictable but that is getting a little better. Many issues to think about and despite all the ugly insults, this thread somehow shines some light on these. Hoping the Patriots get it done on New Year day and Tom emerges ready for the mid-January game.
